Holte Suite Villa Park - 7/6/14

Post by the4thlion »

Congratulations to the two boxers Calum Cooper and Marcus French, who both gave it their all for the Light welterweight midlands title. Can honestly say was the best fight I've seen this year, atmosphere was brilliant, and the place was packed.
Goes to show that there is still hunger for these titles, well done lads and to all the other boxers on the undercard

Pleased it was a well attended show and I agree an area title means something and it is a great honour and achievement to actually fight for one

This fight will defo win midlands fight of the year. Will put it up when its finished editing the fight was unreal.
Packed house and what was nice there villa and blues fans there on rival sides and after a very hard tight fight not one bit of trouble both sets of fans should pat themselves on the back.

Was there last night what a fight, the best live fight I have ever seen!
Toe to toe war could of gone either way, I had Marcus French up by 1 round
But couldn't of argued either way!

I was there what a fight!!!

Jon please do post the link as soon as its done, would love to watch it again.

I also had Ffrench up by one round but was a very close fight. The type of fight both lads deserve to come out with plenty of credit. I'd love to see a rematch.

Was my first visit to the Holte Suite and have to say the whole night was a great success and wel organised.

Was a good crowd there (looked pretty much full to me) and a great atmosphere especially for the title fight but as Jon said groups of rivals very close to each other cheering on their man and very bosterous but not one hint of trouble. Thought the security helped that too all were friendly and helpful which isn't always the case.

I know it was a pretty standard keep busy fight but also thought Sam Eggington looked good too. Very sharp and got the lad out of there early.

It was another great nights boxing at the villa. As has already been said you will be pushed to find a better fight than Ffrench Vs Cooper anywhere this year. Could have gone either way as the fight ebbed and flowed with Ffrench taking the first 2 and last 2 rounds and nearly stopping Cooper who hung on in there bravely. Could have gone either way and both lads (and their fans) did themselves proud.

Dudley's closer to me and was going there (especially when it was Aston v Carruthers) but decided last minute I'd go Holte Suite instead, glad I did now. Not knocking anyone as I know its hard promoting small hall shows but the Dudley one just looked a bit too standard prospect v journeyman to me and lacked depth (only 4 fights in the end wasn't it?). I do like atleast one good 10 round 50/50 fight on the bill before parting with my £.

Ive ben away on a lads weekend gutted that 2 shows were on dudley is closer for me to but id have gone to the villa show. Think its about time ryan aston stepped up him and welborn both at light middle id like to see that if welborn doesn't go for his a eliminator.

Yeah that would be a good match that, although I'd expect its a fight neither will really wanna take for small hall money. Sure I saw somewhere Aston's next out at the Holte Suite July 12th. Max Maxwell's retirement show.
