Haye looked like he'd lost a lot of weight when he was commentating on the Froch v Groves bill. I wonder whether this vegan diet will help at the top level. I always felt Haye was more effective when he was a bit bigger like in the Ruiz fight.

Would love to see Haye back, simply put he (usually) brings excitement. One big worry though after sitting through the Cotto-Martinez debacle, desperately hoping Martinez's knees would magically fall back together, is that for all he wants to believe his shoulder is better, it's a painful experience watching a once excellent fighter now look like a mess because they have a key body part for boxing letting them down (no jokes regarding cojones please :) ). No shoulder = no power = no win.

You're labouring under the common misunderstanding that meat is the only decent source of protein. There are many ways to get protein into your body without meat. Legumes, wheat, nuts, oatmeal, potatoes and most vegetables all contain protein. Your body needs about 0.80 grams of protein for each kilo you weigh.

Most of us consume much more protein than we need but are well below the amount of vegetables we should be eating.

Tim Bradley has been a part time vegan for years now (while in training for a big fight) as are many other athletes these days. He doesn't do it for any humanitarian reasons but just for the benefits he feels it gives him in training camp.

I'm not a vegan or even a vegetarian (I love a decent burger ) but I work in a healthyish food shop & see the benefits of people who follow this lifestyle on a daily basis.

A bigger worry is getting other vitamins into your body like B12.
