Brian Rose v Demetrius Andrade
Brian Rose v Demetrius Andrade
No threads that i can see on this. British guy fighting for a world title. Does Brian have a chance? or is this gonna be a Rees v Broner type fight?
Re: Brian Rose v Demetrius Andrade
I'm not writing him off...didn't give him a chance against Maciel and he fought his heart out to get the win, and that form was franked at the weekend. War Rose
Re: Brian Rose v Demetrius Andrade
I agree, obviously he's not the favourite but he surely has a chance? I've met him a couple of times and seems a really nice, genuine blokedomjon wrote:I'm not writing him off...didn't give him a chance against Maciel and he fought his heart out to get the win, and that form was franked at the weekend. Really nice guy and would love to see him get the victory but I feel Andrade could be something very special.

Brian has no chance,,,
It is a very one sided fight and Brian will be knocked out but fair play to him for getting himself in position

Would be absolutely amazing if Brian won, really likeable guy
Re: Brian Rose v Demetrius Andrade
Do you reckon if Rose can take it to points he can stay at that level and challenge again?mullenman wrote:Brian has no chance,,,

I don't give Rose much of a chance, but good luck to him. Solid pro, nice guy, I'll be cheering him on for sure.

Re: Brian Rose v Demetrius Andrade
I think this will be Burns/Crawford affair with maybe Rose even getting stopped late
I wish Brian all the best and seeing as Sky only deal with 1 promoter they could have bigged the fight up a lot more

Re: Brian Rose v Demetrius Andrade
Agree with this completely. You've gone from one extreme to another after the Froch v Groves fight. Yes the Rose fight is nowhere near as big or popular but its still a British lad fighting for a world titlehandsofstone wrote:I think this will be Burns/Crawford affair with maybe Rose even getting stopped late

Re: Brian Rose v Demetrius Andrade
Will probably go longer than Rees-Broner, Andrade doesn't hit that hard and Rose isn't that aggressive. Obviously he has a chance, but I wouldn't back him at any price, he'd have to win clearly to get the decision in Andrade's back yard, he doesn't have the power to stop him and he isn't good enough to outbox Andrade. The style match up doesn't favour him either, Andrade will take the jab away by getting his front foot on the outside and everything works off the jab for Rose, without it, he's a bit short of ideas. He might win a couple of rounds early on, but Andrade will settle in to a rhythm and pick him apart, Andrade stoppage between 9 and 12 is my prediction.

i say this all the time with jab-reliant fighters, against southpaws

It's true. I forgive you as you're heavily biased. Ask Gmanji, a respected guy who knows the score what he thinks.Adam1991 wrote:Massive Dickmullenman wrote:Brian has no chance,,,

Re: Brian Rose v Demetrius Andrade
Brian definitely does have a chance. He is a technically very good and I think this will be more of a boxing match than a brawl. Question is HOW good is Andrade. They both have equally as good an Amateur background albeit Brian never boxed in the Olympics. They have a similar pro career and I honestly don't see that much splitting them. You will see the best Brian Rose come fight night which until now Brian best and most disciplined display was against Arron.
He is up against it obviously being the away fighter but i honestly do not think andrade will stop him. I hope he Brian can do enough to nick it on points but if its remotely close he will more than likely getting jobbed on the cards.
6/1 for win only and possibly 8-9/1 on points day before fight is great odds and well worth of a good punt which I have done.

Re: Brian Rose v Demetrius Andrade
Hope he wins, massive defence at Bloomfield Road!! Great night out, but sadly it's not going to happen. Brutal stoppage between 5 - 7 rounds.
Re: Brian Rose v Demetrius Andrade
I have a hard time seeing Rose winning.
He's unlikely to score a stoppage due to his lack of power and I think Andrade's a bad opponent for him stylistically. Rose's best wins were over Maciel and Arron, and both of them were rather slow, clumsy, and defensively flawed. I think those are the type of weaknesses that Rose's neat boxing exploits particularly well, but he won't find them against Andrade; he'll find someone who is probably a bit faster, punches harder, can box from the outside or fight skillfully inside, has a decent workrate, and seemingly good stamina. Because of this and possibly the fact that he's the away fighter, I think Rose will have to fight nearly perfect fight to win while Andrade won't require such a performance to retain his title.
