Censorship of the facts

Post by boxingchat »

Why did my post stating 100% the truth regarding yesterday's purse offer get deleted.

Isn't free Speech is the essence of democracy? :box:

I thought that universal sufferage, complete control of capital and exploitation of the proletariat formed the essence of democracy, myself...

Sorry, wrong meeting. Tomorrow night at the docks...

If boxingchat's post was true and not libellous, why not print it? There has obviously been an almighty cock-up/misunderstanding somewhere on the purse bids.

It was basically saying this with a little bit more gloating

From SecondsOut,com

"There is a bit of controversy regarding Maloney winning the purse bid as Fight Academy actually tabled the largest bid, of around £93,000.

However, the BBB of C disqualified that bid, saying Fight Academy's purse bid did not fulfil all of the rules and regulations.

The Board have a recent rule where a cheque for a percentage of the bid must be sent along with the bid. Fight Academy's bid arrived with no cheque but FA are arguing that they complied line-by-line with the Board's regulations as detailed on the BBB of C's website.

However, Fight Academy's Robert Waterman said: "I'll be speaking with the Board because I believe there has been an error here."

Waterman declined to comment further."

Yes, point taken, but why take it off and leave on all the insults to Audley Harrison which are far worse, although perhaps deserved?

Makes a mockery of free speech.

Boxingchat, you obviously know your stuff and make some good contributions... but like Kevin says, the gloating and the "my dads bigger than yours" attitude justs pisses everyone off....

Boxing Chat, you mention the insults aimed at Audley Harrison were you surprised by the reception he received on Saturday? and do you think the national press have gone a bit over the top with their pieces on him?

£70 ish I think.

Calzaghe V Delaney may have been bigger (inflation wise) in it's day.

Clearly though, Duff had a deal with Calzaghe as I would have thought
MH would have with Froch.

Not surprised by nthe reception at all. However, shit as he was, I think the Sun became a bit too personal.

All that happened on Saturday was that FW's continuous slattings were vindicated.

That WAS Audley Harrison - pure and simple. Danny Williams "an under achiever" had an awaful night and boxed crap and with a bad ankle and still pissed home with relative ease.

Back to tne original subject, why did my topic get deleted? Do Waterman and Hobson have an unhealthy influence on Box Rec?

If not, put it back up in the interests of democracy.

Other Promoters and people get sluaghtered on here, without censor, so why are Steptoe and Son exempt?

Agree with the last comment but a lot of the time we just don't get to here the real facts as is the way with a lot of businesses.

One of the things I wanted to do was get a better insight of how the board works and some of the rules and regulations, but even the board seem to want to play their cards close to their chests.

It would be great to do a series of features like a week in life of a promoter/manager/matchmaker or even press officer!
