Should be routine wins for each of the home fighters.
Do you think the fielding fight is routine? He should win but I don't really know if I'd call it routine.

It's a step up for Joshua, Fielding and maybe even Smith. I'll also be interested in seeing how the respective cruiserweights perform as they are on to each other yet.

The matchmaking isn't really inspired in the main, but for me there is a decent amount of interest. If Smith performs against his, he may well have the Love fight. Fielding can be benchmarked against Groves', the cruisers against each other.
I've seen Gonzalez fight several times and his win-loss ratio flatters him, and I don't see much to suggest that Fielding will have many issues beating him. Sure, we may be able to see whether Fielding can pound Gonzales like Groves did or if he has more difficulties, but if that's one of the strong points of the card it just reaffirms my lack of interest.

The Joshua fight is a step up and the Smith one may be too, though I'm not sure the American is better than Mendy, but I still don't expect them to be competitive. Bellew and Cleverly are each fighting the typical padded-record Argentinian/Brazilian, and by large those opponents hardly show anything outside their hometowns.

That some fighters may be stepping up and Bellew and Clev are on the same card doesn't make it interesting to me when the results are all so predictable; I don't think one fight is close to 50/50 and I'd rather have competitive match-ups than showcases for prospects and contenders. The bouts aren't inappropriate given where each fighter is at in their careers and it's not as if all the opponents are terrible, but a card full of 'building' fights doesn't do it for me as a potential observor.

Firstly rocky fielding a opponent has got 30 wins and only lost 3 times to groves, Adonis Stevenson, and Felixstowe Sturn, now if that isn't a step up for a fighter who has only had 18 fights then I do t know what is.

Second Callum smith is fighting someone who has 15 wins and lost 3, so for a kid who has only had 12 fights that's not to bad really,

3rd Joshua is fighting Skelton which is an ok fight for a complete novice who has had 6 fights and never gone past 2 rounds. Idiots on here think he should be put in with a prime Tyson at this stage!

4th Luke Campbell, aggogo, and 1 other who I can't remember has been added to the card

5th bellew/cleverly have only had 1 fight in their new weight class and if they both win they get a show down what allot of people want to see.

The card is packed with talent. Of course we want to see all 50/50 fights but u have to live in the real world, not every fight can be like that. This is the last card before the season ends so allot of boxers want to get out, how can Eddie put them all in a 50/50 fight he would need it to be pay ppv just to pay all the fighters as 50/50 fights require allot of money to make

It's simple to me! If you don't like the card then don't go and don't watch the show that way you won't be dossapointed!

How is Fieldings opponent a step up?

Last fight was an opponent who went the distance with Froch, Chilemba and got knocked out by groves.

This guy has a similar, if slightly better record.

But they are both past it fighters, coming here with absolutely no real chance of victory.

If any of the home guys are shorter than 1/6 with the bookies, I'll eat my hat, and that gives you an idea about the quality of this card.

Even worse than the march card.

And I'm a matchroom fan by the way!

This really is a bad bill (after a great competitive wembley show). A lot of big names fighting 80-20 fights. The home fighter wins every fight.

Bellow/Cleverly fights- Both crap fights, what's the point? just match them against each other now, why have 2 tune up fights before they fight each other??

Joshua vs Skelton- All this crap for Hearn "skelton faced a 16-0 david price 2 years ago"......so what?? Skelton was a great fighter in his day but he has not fought for 16 months and hes nearly 50!! Sexton or Lewinson would have made much more interesting competitive fights.

Fielding v Gonzalez- Arguably the most competitive fight on paper, still not a good fight. Gonzalez has not had a fight in 14 months since getting knocked out by groves, and he really isn't that good he just has a padded record. Why not fight Calum smith??? huge domestic fight.
Smith vs Biosse- Who?? Why not fight Fielding as mentioned above.

Ive always said when you can predict every winner in every fight correctly it really is a shite card, an example of this was the last Burns bill.

It was never there in the first place with Gonzalez, he's just the typical south american, nice padded record, high rankings, then goes on the road for a payday, falls over, goes home, repeat the process. He's been in with Sturm, Groves and Stevenson, but he's never beaten anyone notable. It's a step up for Fielding, but he's fighting a 35 year old that's been out of the ring for over a year and has lost comfortably to the best three fighters he's faced.

If you was a promotor would you put smith v rocky on a under card if you could fill the echo arena as that on it's own????? Your looking at it from your point of view only!
Anyone can turn round and say why doesn't Hearn or other promotors do this or that,
I could say why doesn't Hearn put smith v rocky, bellew v cleverly, fury v haye, khan v brook, degale froch, all on the bill then I'd like that!

The bill is packed with good names, smith v rocky will sell the arena out in the future so why would he put that on this show when he has all those fighters on the one bill who command big money?

The show is not the best in the world infact far from it but it's a chance to see a lot of big names and a packed card

Like I say if your not happy just don't go and wait for a bill that better suits your taste

Who cares about seeing big names if there in one sided fights??? There is not one fifty-fifty fight on this card that's unacceptable. Either Smith vs Fielding would have saved the card.

It is a step up for Fielding, Smith and Joshua. Their opponents aren't regressing here.

Smith - Its probably no coincidence he is fighting one of Love's recent opponents.

People are talking like Fielding is a beast, Alcoba is a more than acceptable opponent for him. It's almost guaranteed to be better than the Blackledge fight and people were more than happy with that matchup.

So what if Skelton isn't what he once was? Its still a good step up for Joshua.

As for the 2 cruisers, its just a chance for people to compare them on the same bill before they fight next - will be interesting enough to see who is adapting better to cruiser.

Honestly, you won't be forced into watching the bill. So don't, I am sure there will be something else for you to watch that night.

Rio I would rather see 50/50 fights myself but as I stated earlier this is the last show of the boxing season and all the fighters want to be on it to earn some money before it ends.

There is no way on earth that all those names on the bill could b in 50/50 fights unless it was ppv.

If u was a promotor and everyone was asking to get on the last show of the season would you turn round and say sorry no only about 4-5 fighters are going to get one last pay day before the season ends because the fans only want 50/50 fights?

It's got some good names on the show and one or two half decent fights, I will be going as I live local and I am looking forward to seeing the packed card but I fully understand if yourself or others would rather spend their money on another competitive bill.

The constant jumping on the band wagon and moaning for the sake of it which is what allot of people do is just ridiculous to me and no one is forcing people to watch it

Very true that no one is forcing me to go/watch. I will watch because I am a boxing fan. However Hearn need to be criticized so bills like this don't become the norm. There is not one 50/50 fight on this bill, and who cares about "its a step up for certain fighters" if the fights are still shite. The commey vs buckland fight on the same night is a better/more competitive fight on paper than all the fights on this bill. FFS I am not looking for 4 or 5 50/50 fights but is 1 too much to ask for?????
Smith vs fielding would save the bill IMO, why not just make the fight instead of fighting them against no marks than no one cares about or knows of.

You have a point but what about the constant Hearn fanboy bandwagon of thinking its a good card because Sky tell you it is or its got plenty of 'names' on.

As for not forcing people to watch you are correct but don't forget Sky have set amount of boxing shows. Many on here pay Sky a lot of money over the year and understandable have a valid reason for complaining if they feel one of those dates is being wasted.

I personally think it's a terrible card and will not be attending which is a shame as i nearly always go to the echo shows including bellews last fight.

I don't mind his prospects getting a run out if there's at least 2 interesting bouts (step ups in class,50/50 domestic fights etc) but that is like one big undercard and a very poor one at that.

I'll be saving my coffers till the price home coming and then clev vs bellew in nov.

Think you've hit the nail on the head with that sentence. Thats pretty much what it is one big undercard to build the fight in November! What a waste of a Sky date, rather had another Prizefighter......haha just kidding!

We all want to see 50/50 fights, but it's unrealistic to expect Hearn to just throw away that fight with no build up. It could be a huge fight in 12-18 months so it's not going to happen now. I'll reserve judgement till after the card, I remember being unimpressed by Coyle Brizuela match up and look how that turned out

I hear allot of people who say "I pay allot of money for boxing when I pay my sky sports bill" but I completely disagree with that!

This is just my opinion but I honestly believe less than £1 a month goes towards boxing from people's sky money. I think it's around £15 a month for the sports channels depending on what packages you have, and I can guarantee with out a shadow of a doubt most of that money goes towards football and other sports like golf and formula one.

My point is a very very small amount of money gets given for the boxing so when people moan about paying good money to sky for the boxing they actually pay pennies!

Now if people pay £15 ppv and an event is poor I would completely understand and I would be right there myself complaining. But if sky have an average card I don't throw my toys out the pram and go on about how much money I pay for boxing.

Again it's simple to me if you don't think sky sports is providing you with good entertainment then unsubscribe

Thats all well and good if there was an option to simply pay the relevant percentage that does go to boxing and only watch boxing. I'd be happy to do that. I pay for Sky Sports particurly for the boxing, if this is the last show on Sky for a while I will be cancelling before that date (Usually do cancel for the 'off season' anyway) and I'll make Sky fully aware why.

Fair point Ste about not being able to pay for only the boxing but as you say that is not possible. But that doesn't change the fact that Eddie Hearn receives very little money for boxing shows so when these people moan about why certain fights arnt getting made or they pay good money for boxing, they need to have a little think about it first then realise they live in the real world

Just got round to watching Biosse v J Leon love.

Love should have got him out of there much earlier and doesn't seem to have much power. The way Biosse was in round 3 of the fight Callum would have finished him there and then no problem.

Hoping for someone to take Callum past 6 rounds can't see it here I'm afraid.
