Week 26 Fight of the Week Nominees

Post by gilgamesh »

First week of the Million Dollar Tournament, and boy did we have some exciting battles!!!

Rafael Marquez and Jhonny Gonzalez traded knockdowns in a 5 round war with Marquez ultimately prevailing with a massive KO shot in the 5th round.

Fighting Harada avenged an embarrassing 1st round KO loss to Israel Vazquez earlier this season with a riveting 9th round TKO of his own to gain sweet revenge, and 3 points in the Million Dollar Tournament!!!!

Guillermo Rigondeaux had a surprisingly tight title tilt with Harry Harris ending in Split Decision, but with Rigo still walk out with his title.

Oscar Larios and Manuel Ortiz waged an epic battle with Oscar Larios coming out on top in possibly one of his biggest wins of the season.

Sixto Escobar and Celestino Caballero have an awesome back and forth battle with Escobar scoring a dramatic 11th round stoppage after being put on the canvas multiple times himself.

Erik Morales and Leo Santa Cruz fought a competitive battle with Morales coming out on top with a hard earned Unanimous Decision.

Agustin Senin and Carlos Zarate had a great fight that ended in a draw, Senin continues to be one of the toughest of all the non managed fighters in the Sim.

A couple of great Non Tourney Battles as Kid Williams and Vic Darchinyan fight a great 10 round battle with Williams ultimately coming out ahead.

Jeff Fenech and Somsak Sithchatchawal were in a great back and forth tussle with Fenech ultimately proving himself the better man by a narrow margin in a tough 10 round battle.

just because it didn't even get a mention I am going to pick Wilfredo Vazquez vs Junior Jones, six knockdowns between them only for the fight to end in a draw, what a great battle.

 I meant to nominate that one.

With the FOTW award there are often so many nominees some have to be left out, but I didn't intend on leaving that one out.

The Weeks are moving fast in the MDT. Week 28 is completed, and the Poll just now closed yesterday for the Awards polls from Week 26

Nevertheless. The Fight of the Week for Week 26 was.

Sixto Escobar KO 11 Celestino Caballero

Congratulations to the Fighters, and their respective managers Techno89 and Crease.
