Judges

Post by Fist of Legend »

so I've been noticing some pretty weird scorecards from certain judges, if you think a judge should be put under investigation let me know in this thread and if I see a trend of shitty scorecards I'll ban that Judge from scoring fights.

What about that ref that let Zarate continue despite still being wobbly after getting up just before the 10 count, but later stopping Jhonny Gonzalez w/o being knocked down at the first hint of trouble? Clearly Zarate's team had him paid off, and I think that fight should be overturned, or at least ruled a NC.

I don't remember the name, but the judge a few weeks back who scored the Rigondeaux vs Paulie Ayala fight in favor of Paulie Ayala must've been blind. Rigo won that fight beyond any doubt. It wasn't even close.

I've looked it up. The judges name was Fred Fensom.

Irregular judging has always been a feature of this Sim. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

We have some judges we would like to request as well. Some judges are above reproach, and GBP will advocate that they be ready and available for our events.

The judging of Caballero vs Barry was ridiculous. Normally I don't complain about judges, but you'd like to think that the best judges are selected for the World Title bouts, and two of those judges were wide of the mark.

Caballero vs Barry: (the below numbers are the end-of-round scores)

Round 01: 2:19............. 10-9 round to Barry
Round 02: 5:18............. 10-9 round to Barry
Round 03: 10:8............. 10-9 round to Caballero
Round 04: 10:6............. 10-9 round to Caballero
Round 05: 12:7............. 10-9 round to Caballero
Round 06: 9:0............... 10-9 round to Caballero
Round 07: 9:8............... 10-9 round to Caballero
Round 08: 9:9............... 10-10 draw
Round 09: 4:2............... 10-9 round to Caballero
Round 10: 11:4............. 10-9 round to Caballero
Round 11: 15:1............. 10-9 round to Caballero

Now, any sane man would score that fight 8 rounds to 2 in favour of Caballero (maybe you could give round 07 as a draw) but it's clear that Caballero was far ahead.

The first judge, Jae-Bong scored the fight 105-106 in favour of Jimmy Barry.

The second judge, Emma DeUrrunaga scored the fight 105-106 in favour of Jimmy Barry.

There is NO WAY that Barry was winning that fight. It's just absolutely impossible!

It turns out that we didn't need the judges scorecards on this occasion but I would ask Mr Fist to suspend these two judges from scoring fights (especially World Title fights).

This ruling will come too late for Caballero to benefit, but maybe it will save future injustices.

ok, I will conduct an investigation on Fred Fensom, Jae-Bong anf Emma DeUrrunaga, this does not mean they will be suspended, a judge will only be suspended for having multiple bad scorecards.

I've concluded my investigation and the results for Jae Baong Kim and Emma DeUrrunaga are inconclusive as I have no other fights to go on other than the caballero-barry fight. For the Record, I only gave Jimmy Barry Rounds 1 and 2 and scored the 7th Round even.

Fred Fensom was a different story, I looked over his cards and these are my findings.

Williams Draw 10 Caballero
Fensom scored the fight 97-92 in favor of Williams. My score was 96-95 in favor of Caballero, there were a bunch of close rounds where Caballero seemed to have the edge but Fensom scored all those rounds for Williams. This was a bad scorecard from Fensom in my eyes

Carruthers SD 10 Rose
Fensom had it 96-95 for Jimmy Carruthers, I had the same score but for Rose. This truly was a close fight and could have gone either way, I just thought Rose did a little better. I can't say he put in a bad card here just because the fight was so close and one other judge had it even wider for Carruthers.

Rigondeaux SD Ayala
Fensom's score in this fight was absurd, 96-95 for Ayala seems way off, I had Rigo winning every round up until I gave the last 3 rounds to Ayala with a final score of 97-93 for Rigondeaux.

so I disagreed with him on all three fights, the Willams Caballero and Rigo Ayala cards did not look too great but the Carruthers Rose fight card is more acceptable.

he won't be suspended yet but I will put him on probation which means he will not be allowed to score World Title fights unless he improves and if he continues to put up bad cards I will suspend him from scoring all fights.

The Sim needs more guys like me. I'm exposing corruption even when it is against my Arch Enemy in the Sim

I'm sure there are other bad judges as well. I'm not gonna backtrack and look for all of them right now, but I will definitely keep an eye out for bad judging in upcoming bouts, and report anything that seems significantly off base in here.

Well, that explains how Barry is still undefeated.

You appear to be intent on causing trouble with your innuendos.

Jimmy Barry never lost a fight as a pro, his references are top notch and he is undefeated in the Sim.

You should take your overly critical hogwash and peddle it elsewhere. Everyone is fully aware that Jimmy Barry is the real thing.

Do not attempt to sully the GBP shining moniker with your spittle and vice.

Why did the judges score all 12 rounds of the Harada fight when it was stopped in round 10?

they didn't, I think you may have gotten confused because it shows all the round numbers but if you count it, there were only 9 rounds scored.

Judge Richard Hopkins scored a round for Dunne in which he didn't even land a punch.

I'm just saying.

Hopkins is a judge that understands the "SPIRIT" of an intended punch. He knew that Dunne MEANT to throw some serious leather....and gave him credit for the thought.
