I don't mind what Hearns doing for his fighters as much if the fighters want to go over there knowing theyve really not got a chance (and thats why he's not shelled out to get the fight in the UK) then thats upto them.

I do wish Sky and Matchroom would stop trying to con people intpo thinking fighters like Purdy, Rose etc are World Level fighters because theyve won some dodgy 'eliminator' or bull shit belt against a 'ranked' fighter.

I like Rose a lot seems like a top lad but he's not even the best light middle in this country let alone world level.

Rose is 29-years-old. He's as good as he will ever be and to be honest he's done well to get a world title shot. Everyone, including Hearn, knew Rose was a big underdog but sometimes you have to take your chance when it's there.

He fought for a world title in New York! Unfortunately he would never have beaten Andrade because Andrade is just a class above. All respect to Brian Rose for earning his shot by beating Maciel and then giving it a go. I'm sure he will be back and hopefully will get a big fight in front of his fans in Blackpool.

No amount of building up would have won rose that fight last night, nor Purdy nor Rees. Just not good enough at the end of the day but they wanted a crack at world level so Hearn has done his job getting them the fights. What's the alternative? Keep fighting at British standard for years and hope to get an aging or weak beltholder over one day so you can call yourself world champion?

If anything nights like last night could be good for British boxing in the long run if they show how far behind we are and motivate people to raise the bar.

I'm sure there are still people who think Cleverly didn't beat Kovalev because Nathan's level of opposition wasn't good enough to 'prepare' him.

Agree with pretty much all of this. Sure some fighters can develop a lot but, just as you will never polish a turd and get a diamond, you cannot prepare a fighter for something they simply cannot ever be ready for.

We live in a world where all footballers are "legends" and all boxers think that they are "world class" (you only have to see the response on this site if somebody refers to a boxer as British level / domestic class as it is taken as some kind of insult !) when in reality they are not.

There are very few legends at any sport.

Very few boxers can be referred to as World Class.
