Martin Murray vs Max Bursak

Post by handsofstone »

This ones live on NoxBation on Saturday from Monte Carlo,Murray's up against former European champ Bursak,Is anyone fancying an upset?

I think it's gonna be a good'un,i think it will be close but if Martin's switched on i fancy him to edge it on points

Also we've got a Straweight world title fight,Hekkie Budler defending his WBA title against Pigmy Kokietgym, looking forward to that one

Murray's ability level is a little hazy for me. Sturm beat him and the German was a little faded. A Martinez beat him and was A LOT faded. This could end up being quite close.

They were both shot and hugely flattered Murray.

Also looking forward to the Budler fight. Should be fast and furious.

Agree although I did have Murray winning the fight against Martinez. I was drunk though.

Drunkish.

Ishish.

He's very strong though & I think that will be enough against Bursak - who was lucky to get the result against Murray victim Blackwell.

Murray's performances of late remind of Rendall Munroe's between the world title challenge and quigg fight - very flat.... I'm not sure he can afford to be vs Bursak.

Good fight for him.

Sturm had a very close fight with Geale after the Murray fight.

Martinez's knees were nowhere near as bad against Murray as they were against Cotto.

Don't like the use of the word shot to describe any fighter but even the partisan boxing fan looking back must now realise the Murray performances in those two fights were not as spectacular as they seemed at the time.
Perfect matchmaking - but not backed up with results.

Martinez wasn't 50% of the fighter he had been two years previously. Just because he was even more shot against Cotto doesn't mean he wasn't against Martin.

The word 'shot' might be a tad harsh. 'Spent' is a nicer way of putting it.

Prior to the Murray fight he could have rolled over, lit a cigarette & said "I'm spent" and no one would have had any problem. He was physically half the fighter he'd been in recent years.

Sturm fight was Martins 1st big bout And was end of 2011 Were he was pushed to the wire after again a close fight with macklin
Same with the Martinez fight how he got up and came back showed how dangerous he was as he took some heavy shots in that bout showing courage and character which has made him such a good champion just previous he won 11 of 12 rounds vs Chavez jnr.

True, though bear in mind that Chavez Jr arguably lost to Brian Vera in his next fight. Up in weight sure but still Brian Vera.

Bursak was floored and fortunate to get the decision against Nick Blackwell.

Murray should dominate him.

Depends on which Murray turns up, if he comes in bored and lazy again then it'll be a hard nights work.
