Does David Price stand a chance against Tyson Fury?
Before the two losses to Tony Thompson, David Price vs. Tyson Fury was being hyped up as being a huge dream fight in the United Kingdom.
Now that Price has showed some chin issues, he has fallen out of favor for many.
If that fight were to happen within one year, does Price stand a chance against Fury?

Definitely got a chance, with the amount of power he carries. Depends how his career progresses

Price has a chance against anyone if he manages to land his right hand.
Fury also hasn't fought anyone on the level of Thompson yet, so we don't really know how they actually compare. No doubt in my mind that Price would still be undefeated if he'd just fought the guys currently on Fury's resume.

If Price regains his confidence(a big if) he has the power and skills to trouble anyone
Re: Does David Price stand a chance against Tyson Fury?
Thompson is on the same level as Chisora and Cunningham. Johnson is only a level below.Boxerbeetle123 wrote:Price has a chance against anyone if he manages to land his right hand.

I'd bet against Price beating Chisora, Cunningham & Johnson.
Price has a puncher's chance against Fury, but he'd be the clear underdog.
Re: Does David Price stand a chance against Tyson Fury?
I'd pick Fury to win, but Price definitely still has a realistic chance. Fury despite his size isn't all that big of a puncher really, and his defense isn't the best in the world so Price would have his chances to connect with some major bombs in there.

I'd still like to see them pair up but I'd bet on Fury to outlast the early storm, wear Price down and stop him.

Which boxers 6' 9" or over are/were bigger punchers than Fury?gilgamesh wrote:Fury despite his size isn't all that big of a puncher really,

I think Chisora would have beaten Price. Price has a punchers chance with pretty much anyone though.Boxerbeetle123 wrote:Price has a chance against anyone if he manages to land his right hand.

Yes.
Chinny, poor stamina, mentally weak, whatever......he still packs a big punch and Fury has shown himself to be vulnerable to that shot early on. It doesn't seem unrealsitic that if relatively light-hitters such as Pakjic and Cunningham could drop Fury, Price could stop him.

I would say its a 50 - 50 fight to be honest, they are both garbage TBH widely over rated, hype make boxers better than they are.

Fury is a top 5 world ranked heavyweight. He's not garbage.mimmy123 wrote:I would say its a 50 - 50 fight to be honest, they are both garbage TBH widely over rated, hype make boxers better than they are.

I've always said Fury would knock him out, even when the David Price is unstoppable train was pulling into town.

I'd say Thompson is a clear level above Chisora, Chisora doesn't have a single win of note on his record. And Price would absolutely demolish Cunningham & wouldn't struggle the way Fury did. The jury should remain firmly out on Fury until he fights a top level guy, and I suspect he'll go exactly the same way Price did.Horse wrote:Thompson is on the same level as Chisora and Cunningham. Well hopefully Fury gets past Chisora again & goes straight on to fight the winner of Wilder/Stiverne so we can all find out how good he really is.Horse wrote:I strongly disagree.Boxerbeetle123 wrote:I'd say Thompson is a clear level above Chisora, Chisora doesn't have a single win of note on his record. Fury has to ne favourite but Price easily carries enough power to knock him out.
Don't matter now anyway as I don't we ever see it. Fury bottled it before and now Price is playing catch up.

I agree they are both on the same level. Chisora might be a little better than him nowkeithmoonhangover wrote:Explain how common sense says Thompson and Chisora are on the same level.Horse wrote:Common sense.keithmoonhangover wrote:On what grounds?
