Katsidis vs. Earl 04/07/2014

Post by Deno1986 »

Just seen this fight has been scheduled to take place in Katisidis' hometown for some type of WBU belt. It's sad to see two worn, battle exerted boxers being allowed to step inside a ring to fight each other.

Earl is shot, his punch resistance is not there anymore, he could get hurt here, terrible fight, Katsidis still as a lot left, Earl as nothing left, he talks slowly, with a slurred speech and does not think quickly now, no wonder the British Board would not let the fight take place over here.

Was there at Wembley Arena for the first fight which was an absolute war but this shouldn't be sanctioned.

It sounds like Graham is hell bent on this i'm sure those close to him will not want him doing it.
Lets hope its just an exhibition and not a real fight as previous posters have said he is very punchy and could be further brain damaged.
Its a real shame they feel they wanna do this again the roar of the crowd is a powerful draw lets hope they both hear the cheers on the way out.

Sheer stupidity this. Katsidis still has loads left, especially at a lower level. By the end of his career a strong breeze would have knocked Earl over so this fight is just ridiculous.

X2 it is a shame, both were really good fighters in their prime.

Kats has very little left IMO. He wins this fight solely because he is less shot than Earl, Has probably always thrown harder than Earl, and likely always had a better chin than Earl.

Shot & shotter.

Bloody hell, just hoping this is an exhibition/reunion rather than anything remotely serious. I really don't like the idea of Katsidis and Earl belting each other again, especially as Earl has not thrown a punch in anger for five years and that was against the the ever-game Karl Taylor and a kind of sign-off bout.

Hopefully both fighters are treating this as an exhibition. Katsidis probably needs this fight less than Earl, maybe he's doing it as a favour so Earl can earn a crust, a-la Joe Louis and John Henry?

I really don't like this fight, both fighters really need the people close to them to have a word about what they are doing to themselves!! Sometimes boxers need to realise that they have a long life to live after they retire and should value the fact their families would like to have them live that life with most of their faculties intact!

Rumble down under Katsidis/Earl 2

Post by Anzi »

This is getting far too serious now in what is a terrible match up, Katsidis is still a beast and Earl was shot years ago, when a young Amir Khan destroyed him, talk about throwing someone to the Wolves. http://youtu.be/3AZqMVZTZs8

Katsidis should win by easy 1st round KO. Earl is about as shot as a shot fighter can get. Hopefully there will be a rounds betting market but I doubt it.

He's certainly not a beast , he's shot. He looked god awful against Burns & Mensah.

this is a travesty because both men have absolutely bugger all left.

I am afraid you will see that he is still a beast when he gets in the ring with Earl and he gave Burns some rough moments, but Burns used his boxing skills, to out box him, so did Mensah, Earl will come and stand in front of him, he has been destroying his sparring partners, believe me, he is still dangerous, remember he was wrote off as finished well before his fight with Mitchell, what happened then ? He may be below his best, but Earl is well and truly shot, not to mentioned punch drunk.

Earl is so shot he will be KO'd by the first decent punch - let's just hope its a jab so there no real damage.

The thought of Kats taking this fight seriously with hard sparring fills me with dread for Earl. I pray Kats sticks to a few body punches because this has disaster written all over it.

Anyone know anywhere showing the fight? Thought a legal stream might be available.

It's a shame they are doing the dance again. Earl v katsidis was the fight that really hooked me into boxing. I watched that fight and was just in a trance watching 2 warriors at the top of there game not holding back.

Think it will resemble 2 old geezers in the street trying to relive past glory and be shambolic imo

Earl moves, speaks, and has all the mannerisms of someone who is actually drunk. Thankfully the aggro looked like playacting so hopefully Katsidis won't go wild in the fight. If he does... God help Earl.
