British fighter making a shock comeback

Post by WelshJack »

Anyone know anything about this? I don't know if it is just Kugan Cassius trying to gain more followers or something.

Not a chance it's Calzaghe, he's been out the ring far far too long. It will be someone who retired in the last 3 or so years I would have thought.

I think DAVE2005 would know if it was Ricky (unless he's double bluffing).

I really hope not. He did a few pads at IBHOF and was inducted with Barry Hearn, the rumours are coming from Matchroom friendly Kugan... Ward showed up at IBHOF and it was only a couple of weeks after Froch and Groves made millions!

I'd comeback if I were Joe (we're all taking Eddie and Kugan's bait like doped rats here BTW).

It ain't hatton,that's for sure.
I think it might just be,Calzaghe,I can't think of many other big name marquee british fighters who could make a comeback.

Kugan has gone on to say that Eddie has had a moan at him for saying that, to me that suggest whoever it is, Matchroom are involved, which rules out Hatton, Calzaghe's too old, his hands have gone and he has no need to fight again. Struggling to think who this might be, but it all points to one man, YES HE CAN ;;-)

I doubt it's Calzaghe. All that coke and sh*t rule him out. Ditto for Naz, not to mention they guy weighs about 15st.

I did think that but that would suggest Audley is going to be on a Matchroom show. I'd be amazed if it's either Calzaghe or Audley. Audley basically announced he wasn't retiring a short while after he announced he was. I can't see anyone putting him on in the UK unless he strings a few wins together in the US.

If it's Calzaghe it's a joke! He won't win a fight against any top 15 fighter.
When you have that much time out the ring and you don't exactly look after your self, you can't possibly think it easy to dive back in with the top fighters!

If it is true and it's him then it is purely for the money and nothing to do with the love of the sport! Calzaghe has always said he is happily retired.

I hope if it's true they give him a warm up fight and he realises that he can't compete with a British level fighter never mind a world level fighter

It'll be someone underwhelming, like Audley. Look at Kugan's choice of language, it doesn't imply a WTF revelation.
