Jeff Merritt vs. Milton Torres

Post by Sheila »

June 24, 1968

Madison Square Garden

Main Event > Joe Frazier vs. Manuel Ramos {Heavyweight Championship}

Preliminary Bout >

Jeff Merritt > 4-0-0 {3 KO's}
vs.
Milton Torres > 6-3-2 {1 KO}

Teddy Brenner of Madison Square Garden was instrumental in bringing Jeff Merritt to New York, where the
promising 21 year-old Heavyweight from Missouri was now based.

Jeff was listed at 6' 2" and 210 lbs. by Madison Square Garden.

Milton Torres was a former Light-Heavyweight, who was at one time a promising boxer back in 1964.

The fight was a blow-out, as Jeff swarmed all over the smaller Torres and blasted away with wild punches,
and scored a Knockout in the 1st Round.

I'll say.

A guy who was banned for trying to destroy the integrity of the database is back and posting as if nothing happened.

I see Buzz in another thread is defending him again and pretending there is some confusion if this is indeed the same person.

He's easing his way back in slowly Chuck.

No doubt Buzz has coached him via PM what the best moves are so they can re-establish their double act.
