Week 31 KO of the Week Nominees

Post by gilgamesh »

Take your pick guys. Some great choices.

A really tough choice this week. Jhonny stopping Fenech in 1 round was obviously a very spectacular win, but personally I'm always partial to KO's when a guy pulls the KO win out in a fight he's either behind in or dead even on the cards in. There were 5 of those this week.

Erik Morales,Carlos Zarate, Israel Vazquez, Terry McGovern and Jimmy Barry all were either behind on the scorecards or even on the scorecards at the time they scored their stoppages. So this might well be the toughest vote yet.

My vote goes to Zarate's KO of Sithchatchawal because of all those pulling it out of the fire type wins, his was against the toughest opponent...well actually Morales' was, but Morales only managed a TKO stoppage whereas Carlos Zarate dropped Sithchatchawal for the count.

Extremely tough pick.

At the risk of sounding partial... I have to go with Jhonny G over Fenech in one round. Fenech was 8th ranked overall, while Gonzalez was 35th... and Jhonny stopped him in one round. ONE ROUND!

You are not alone in this. Your KO leads in the poll at the moment. Which is no surprise. It was definitely a great victory. Jhonny's greatest victory yet I'd say.

Barry never knocks folks out...so that's interesting.

Fenech was undertrained, AND Johnny won't give him a rematch.

Sad, true, and all Sim.

JG, should do the right thing.

There was nothing controversial about the Barry JG match.....your man was outclassed.

Both fighters were in top shape. The expected outcome happened.

Fenech and Gonzo....that was more flukish than Hearns Duran Or Tyson Douglas.

That's the fax jax.

Jhonny's first round KO was far more convincing than Barry's narrow decision... so the Jhonny v Barry rematch is more logical.

Jhonny v Barry happened before Jhonny v Fenech... so it's only logical that the Jhonny v Barry rematch happens first.

Jhonny asked for a rematch with Barry before Fenech even mentioned the word "rematch"... so logic states that Jhonny v Barry II should happen first.

That's the truth, Ruth.
