Hard to see this bout going longer than 5 Rounds.

Joe Frazier would bust up the right side of Ernie's ribs with left hooks. Joe would be too strong
for the lanky Ernie.

By Round 3, Ernie would have lowered his guard to protect his body.

Your scenario sounds correct, though I think Ernie lasts a little longer against the '67 version of Frazier.

Ernie just did not have the firepower or moves to keep Frazier off him.

Joe Frazier wins and fairly convincingly. Not sure about the exact fashion in which it ends.

It would be more than "fairly convincingly."

Ernie would take some real punishment to the body before Frazier went upstairs to finish it.

Match-up of styles.

Not good for Ernie Terrell in mid-1967.

The 28+ year-old Ernie was over-cooked at this time in his career. He was coming off of eye-surgery
{left eye} after getting intentionally thumbed in the eye {Round 4} by Cassius Clay in January 1967.

See what happened to Ernie when he fought Thad Spencer {August 5, 1967} and Manuel Ramos {October 14, 1967}.

He was gun-shy and tentative.

Little Joe was coming on like a wrecking-ball at {Age; 23 1/2} during mid-1967.
See;
April 11, 1967 > Jefferson Davis {6' 4"}
October 17, 1967 > Tony Doyle {6' 4"}

Little Joe ate up tall guys who had no power, by barreling in and unloading with a relentless attack.

Ernie may have held Little Joe off for 3-Rounds. But by Round 4, we could hear ribs cracking in Philadelphia.

Why would anyone attempt to intentionally thumb someone,seems likely you'd cause more harm to yourself if it was intential

So, Il Duce starts to get back to his one and only subject "Cassius Clay: My Fixation with him".

Is it getting any closer to his latest incarnation being zapped Buzz?

Or do we have to wait for a real moderator to drop in again?

Buzz, everyone, including you, knows it is Il Duce with a new username.

Yet you want to pretend there might be two complete nutters with an Ali fixation, with the exact same writing 'style' and who just happen to have found their way in here one after the other.

I know you are familiar with Occam's razor as I have seen you use it on occasions when it suits your arguement; why does it not apply now?

No worries Giancarlo, the Buzzer has been setting up Sheila with some slick, leading questioning.

Weaving a web, one might say.

Then, when the time is right, ol' Buzz is gonna pounce like a black widow spider mama from hell.

Just watch and see.

I hope you are right yancey.

Buzz pouncing is not something I can visualise; a slow meandering stroll while chortling to himself at just how witty he really is comes more easily to mind.

Gian.....just how do you explain the gender gap? Il Duce was male.

Sheila, is clearly a woman's name.

Hah.....and you thought you had this one figured out!

I pick Frazier in this one - about 7 - 9 rounds stoppage. Put the fight one year earlier when Ernie Terrell was more prime and Frazier coming up and it could be a different result. Ernie was a hard man to beat in his prime.

Terrell's jab would've given Frazier a lot of problems early on, especially vs a greener Frazier who had yet to perfect his bobbing and weaving defense coming in. That said, Frazier style-wise is still Ernie's Kryptonite. An exhausted Terrell would get stopped late or possibly DQ'd for excessive holding.

At that point, Ernie was the best, including Joe. He was just too tall for Joe.

Hmm Just like Foreman I guess....just too damn tall.

But Ali was taller as well, except for a few moments in round 15 of their first fight.

1967

Just ask Rudy Davis how Joe would do against a taller man.

he was just "too damn tall".

Ok,

I did a search to see if the Frazier vs Terrell fight had ever been postulated here.

I thought such a thread would be interesting, based on the height issue that Kalan would/will surely comment on.

But I see that back in 2014, I apparently had a premonition of Kalan's arrival on the scene.

Unless this somehow proves Saad's theory that I and Kalan are the same person.

Anyway....I don't care who you are, this is funny, and I swear, nothing in this thread has been tampered with....."it is, as it was". As the pope would say.

You can't make this shyt up.......

A massacre and a one-sided beat down. I can't see Smokin' Joe losing this fight.
