Officially line is that he has a perforated eardrum, some suspect that he didn't really fancy the fight. He's signed a managerial deal with Daniel Kinahan, google him if you want to find out anything interesting about him...

Former british champ 2 time english champ ibf international champ. Also it depends on who's available and wud except a fight with Flannigan who has been avoided big time. Also fw will want to keep the title in his stable

I think Flanagan will be rubbing his hands with this fight. Gethins style is made for him. Shame Sykes is out although they are mates I'm sure he would of fancied a step up to fight Flanagan again. The prizefighter final was close. Where does Flanagan go after winning it no one domestically will fancy that fight

It might work the other way mate, with the Lonsdale belt on the line he will still be a high risk opponent but others will see it as a risk worth taking if they can beat him and become British champion!!

Sykes already has a British title and Walsh is his mandatory. Coyle's being taken down the international route and as we all know VVarren-Hearn isn't going to be happening any time soon unless it goes to purse bids. The only options I see for the winner, likely Flanagan are Buckland, if he beats Commey, John Murray and possibly Stephen Foster until the board put someone forward as a mandatory. But Murray may well retire, I'm not sure if the board would sanction Foster to fight for the title and Commey's the favourite to beat Buckland.

Both of these are struggling bad with making the super feather and I can see both at lightweight very soon, Sykes would want the British Title again and I have also heard Liam Walsh is running down his contract so he might well be on Eddies books soon and would maybe fancy a shot at the british too.

Sykes still has the British title and has it outright, he doesn't need it again, Walsh is already mandatory at super featherweight, why move up and go through the whole process of getting to the mandatory position again? And the only person who's mentioned anything about Walsh changing promoters is David, since he's been saying it for 6 months now, I get the feeling he's talking bollocks and there's been no mention of either struggling at the weight, Sykes has done it for years no problem and Walsh made the weight for the Murray fight, 2 years after his last fight at the weight, so he obviously didn't grow into being a lightweight. Expe I can't wait till you eat your words. Seem to think you know it all. Like I said to you before proof is in the pudding. I've said for 6 month prob more like 4 and he has a contract to run down which I have been told is August.. He's spoken to Hearn I've been told him and Ryan are signing there. Walsh was weight drained against Murray anyone with boxing knowledge could of seen that. Been told he point blank refused to fight at Super Feather for this fight. Quite hard taking that extra 5lbs off. As for Sykes he's tight at the weight but he's a proud fighter and will fight anyone. He was drained for his last fight if you watched the fight you would of seen that.. I will trust people in boxing who I speak to rather than a guy who doesn't go by his real name on here..
