George Groves Big News Next Week

Post by edgey2009 »

Groves has just tweeted he has big news to announce next week. DeGale 2? Can't see him saying it's big news if it's just a fight against a journeyman for example

Degale is a big risk for him I would think a comeback against a less dangerous fighter is the way forward.

I don't think George is in it for small fights anymore.

DeGale's been adamant that his next fight is for a world title so I can't see that.

A fight against Stieglitz would be my guess.

Definately cant see Degale Groves 2. I think that fight could be a massive fight in a year or so time if both go on to do well and one of them has a world title. I emphasize the word "if"

Smith will be sick if he has. He has no grounds for complaint though.

Smith can fcuk off IMO - even though Abraham is worn its still a missmatch and Paul will be sparked out.

Abraham- Groves would be nice...George needs to bury the hatchet with Booth though- he needs him badly

It will be his comeback fight against a half decent top 15 fighter in London in September from the way they were talking lately,I wonder what venue they will use,he has a decent fanbase but Wembley Arena would be to big for this type of fight, maybe the Albert Hall or Alexander Palace possibly the Olympia could do for this as well.It won`t be big news in the wider sense of boxing this announcement unless I`m wrong and will proberly be on allegedly.

That would be a cracking fight. High risk for possibly not much reward though. Not sure how much Mikkel has left saying that.

Kessler and Groves are both promoted by the same promoter so doubt Sauerland will put them in together when they are in a minor rebuild process.

Yup, Kessler needs a tune-up and Groves needs a much easier opponent after getting knocked out so no chance this is happening any time soon. A year down the line though...

Kessler is not interested in a tune up.

Definitely too soon for Kessler, Kessler vs Degale would make more sense. As a few people have already said, I reckon he will be fighting a ranked opponent in September with a view to facing Abraham.
But you never know with George, he does seem to enjoy surprising people. Expect the unexpected
