Matt Skelton

Post by horndawg80 »

Afternoon everyone,
Has anyone heard about Matt's training camp? It'll be interesting to know how hard he is training.

Is it true that AJ did some nerve damage to Legg?

I can't answer either of your questions but I can tell you I'm putting £100 on Skelton to win by stoppage. Joshua is rightly a big favourite but the odds are too good to resist a mug punt.

If Skelton wins by stoppage, I'll give you your stake back too...

I doubt Skelton will see the 3rd round. Good match making for Jousha, a body shot will probably stop him.

Skelton is only 8-11 to be stopped in the first round...

I think he will at least make it to the second :-)

Skelton ko is 22-1

Paddypower is currently down.... I think rnd 3 was 4-1 and rnd 4 was 15-2. I'm thinking the value may be rnd 4 but I can see Josh taking him out in rnd 2

Skelton to collapse in 1. He could barely even throw punches anymore versus Price.

Sad to see this brute who tore through the British scene 10 years ago has been reduced to a punchbag.

Ah the more interesting question of Skeltons age whats the consensus on that these days 47 ? 49? 50? too old to be in the ring with a puncher like Joshua for sure,

If Joshua has anything like 'Pricey Power' Matt may struggle to get out of the first. I certainly don't expect him to hear the bell at the end of the third. If he does though...

47-year old Skelton was always 250-255lb during his best days but lately he's been a good 20lb lighter

Joshua is massive but only weighs circa 235lb which is testament to his athleticism.

So on the night they'll weigh the same but the difference in youth, power, skill will be so wide that Skelton will likely be long gone by the 2nd round.

One round. Skelton will try rushing him and get knocked out on the way in.

Seems the arguments about how far the fight is over again have started was advertised originally as an eight round bout and boxrec now have it back to a six round fight.

This happened last time the Legg bout was announced 8 rounds at the weigh in and then it ended up being six.

Its a nightmare for round by round betting as most will void the round betting if the distance is changed, I know some paid out last time but only really because it was not a proper loser for them and
so its makes them look good.

Why would the BBBoC sanction such a contest?

You can hardly defend bad British ref stoppages by claiming 'concern' for fighter safety, while at the same time allowing washed up, 50 year old men to get their brains bashed in by David Price and Anthony Joshua. It's incongruous to say the least.

Jousha should stop him in the first, skeleton hasn't fought for 15 months, 47-50 years old, you will probably get good odds it going the distance maybe 4/1.

Imagine if Joshua did look to the 47 plus Skelton. Where would his career be then.

The Bear is a beast and I think he might even do Joshua! I'm with that fella who's had £100 on him. I'll eat my hat if he wins in Round 1!

£100 on Skelton?? Really? I also hope your hat is made of chocolate.

I'm going on round 4 at 15/2 for Joshua. Though really I expect round 2 finish it's only 2/1

You can get bet fair Skelton win at 28-1
