Cameron Hammond
Cameron Hammond
Great to see Australian Olympian, Cameron Hammond win last night.
No disrespect for cameron, as he is a fighter, a good one at that, this is aimed at his promoter. Sam Colimban took this fight at a week's notice and saw this as an opportunity to redeem himself, to get back in to the game, and to also earn the money he needs to get back over to visit his son. He was aware of fighting Hammond all week, and looked forward to the break coming his way, yet he was stiffed. Again. Good win for Cameron Hammond, but Sam Colimban would have been great.
This is Australian boxing, though, isn't it!? Lets fly in an Argentinian to lose instead of paying another Aussie to fight a competitive fight. Fvck this shit, stand up fans, let's be counted.

Re: Cameron Hammond
Yeah, a pitty they went with the much much softer option. The guy he beat had never beaten anyone with a winning record...
Its a shame to watch Aussie "prospects" beating up on limited opposition and then usually claiming that they cant find opponents.
I'm glad we will get too see what Hooper is all about in his next fight. I look forward to Hammond stepping in there with a live body soon too. These glorified parring session are ok for the first 4 or 5 fights to get some confidence etc but 10 fights in he should be having a crack at someone around Colomban's level.

Re: Cameron Hammond
As at June 22, Opponent was Matt Lytwynenko & replaced by Argie in June 29
Re: Cameron Hammond
Yeah, I did notice that on here. I spoke to Sam on the 29th of June and he told me he'd been asked to fight Cameron hammond and had accepted the fight, then he spent all week training and preparing for it, very odd.AntonS wrote:As at June 22, Opponent was Matt Lytwynenko & replaced by Argie in June 29

I matched the fight. Lytwynenko pulled out late, leaving days to scramble for an opponent and effectively save the show. Thankfully Blanco was already fit and took the fight. The fight was offered to Sam, along with a stack of other boxers. Visas for Blanco and trainer were confirmed and at that stage no confirmation was received back saying Sam was a definite. Quite simply it came down to knowing Blanco would turn up, or hoping Colomban would. I've no doubt they can fight at another point, maybe on Fox. Hope this sheds some light, cheers.

* What reason was given for Lytwynenko pulling out late?
* Why do you say "hoping" Colomban would turn up? What makes you think he wouldn't have?

Re: Cameron Hammond
Matt apparently had a fall out with his trainer. I say "hoping" because I'd not received any word that he was definitely taking the fight. It came to Sunday, 6 days before the fight and a decision had to be made. Like I said, hope this one can get made at a later date. Cheers!TrainInsane wrote:Two questions:Ipswich Express wrote:I matched the fight. Lytwynenko pulled out late, leaving days to scramble for an opponent and effectively save the show. Re: Cameron Hammond
Hammond has a real tough fight coming up with Kris George. Hammond can box and George can bang. Good match up.
Re: Cameron Hammond
Just found out Hammond v George is off. George is fighting the Bazilian that Jeff Horn beat in a shoutout.
Re: Cameron Hammond
Any idea why the fight is off?
