First decent punch Audley ships and he'll be doing his panicked side-on shuffle.

Did he learn it in Strictly Come Dancing?

Haye, Wilder and Price are serious punchers.

To say the very least. Harrison will have to have deteriorated terribly to be hurt by Eddie Chambers’ punches. Of course, at his age and with all that ringrust he might well have deteriorated terribly.

The Harrison who boxed the likes of Williams and Guinn would not be hurt by Eddie Chambers. Outhustled? Yes. But hurt or KOd? No.

I was at one of them......there'll be loads of others where he didn't do anything that I've forgotten too. He was doing precious little against Michael Sprott too until the last 10 seconds. If Sprott had just been a bit more canny instead of giving value for money he'd have won that fight as he had rounds in the bag.
If Harrison did get in the ring with Chambers I'm 100% confident he would do nothing. That's one side of him, the other side is that I happen to like the guy :TU:
Begs the question, why were you at on then?

Was the on you were at the Haye fight? It baffled me that people went to that expecting a good fight. Harrison had been slaughtered by the fans and the media for the best part of a decade leading up to the fight, then suddenly everybody forgot that and pretended it was a good fight for Haye.

I didn't even order the PPV.
No Sir, the one I went to was an Amir Khan bill last April when he fought the big American. Bad use of "fought" there. I used to have no time for him whatsoever but I changed my mind about him. He isn't a bad bloke imo. A very, very bizarre choice of career for a man with no real aggression.

It certainly was not the David Haye Great British Boxing-Robbery. My mate who is a UFC fan proudly told me that he'd bought the PPV and invited me round to watch it.... I was livid when he told me what he'd done but I went anyway!

Shame as Eddie will probably get more love from the crowd than Audley

I know he brought a lot of it on himself with his boasts and performances but its a shame it got to this for an Olympic gold meddalist

I feel sorry for the abuse Audley gets. I know he did himself no favours but privately he's a decent guy. His chin wasn't sturdy enough for the pros; but he did win Uk's first boxing gold medal for years and the first Brit to win super heavy.

Does anyone know if he made enough money to be comfortable? I'd actually think him vs Joshua would still attract attention....

Audley's chin isn't that bad. 3 murderous punchers and one perfect punch are the only stoppages he is.

Yeah but I think he knew his chin was dodgy and this made him gunshy.

He also got flattened in the London ABAS I believe. I mean flat out.

Audley's chin is no worse than a lot of fighters', no problem with it whatsoever. He just clearly doesn't enjoy it, he fights scared - or he appears to. Why does he keep doing it? Is he psychologically damaged or of low intelligence? I do not believe so. I don't even think he does it for the limelight - I think he just sees boxing as a steady source of income. I also suspect that in Audley's head, boxing is his only way of paying the bills! He has a gold medal and he's boxing at a weight extremity - heavyweight, which generally means the field of competition less deep.
If Audley was anything from a featherweight to a super-middle weight there'd have been no Olympic medal and he'd have retired years ago.
He's been out of credibility for some time and those that continue to use him must also have their own credibility within the game scrutinized.
I agree he seems like a real nice fella. I'm sure he has other skills/ abilities, outside of a boxing ring, that he could put to good use. All the best to him!

Little Eddie Chambers smacking away at a massive man that's too big to knock out but that doesn't do anything back. Re-run of his meeting with Baker.

Yeah, a lot of people who bought the PPV did so thinking it'd be a good fight because; "it's not often two people are fighting and I've heard of both of them".

Too big to knock out? :-?

I would back Chambers to stop Harrison here, probably on accumulation. Seems to me Audley will turn up a shell of a never-was.

Audley must be boxing on because he needs the money.... even if its smaller purses than yesteryear.
A semi decent fighter will spark Audley within a couple of rounds these days

I doubt Audley needs the money. He seems to be living well in LA, with his wife running a successful beauty salon. I'm sure Audley wants to use a Chambers win as a short cut to a meaningful fight. The problem is his confidence is shot to bits, his body seems shot to bits, and when he arrives in a meaningful fight - if he gets that far - his nerves will overcome him.

The air of doom that hung over Audley & his team during the Harrison/Wilder introductions was tangible.

he's only in it for the money and his stock has fallen so low i doubt he would get to much as a purse now .

Must be tough living in a place like LA as someone like Harrison.

- 'What do you do?'

- 'I'm a heavyweight boxer'

- 'Interesting, fought anyone famous?'

- 'Well, have you heard of a guy known as 'The Legend Killer'? Beat a guy who goes by the name of... MIKE TYSON! Well, KNOCKED HIM OUT, just like all the others'

- 'All the others?'

- 'Well, many of them'

- 'Anyone big recently?'

- 'Well, the past is the past and the belief in destiny is still there, every fightback is the end of the last comeback and only a setback on the road to the Outback. Next up I'm fighting Fast Eddie Chambers'

- *Smiling politely*

I'd guess telling someone you won a gold medal would instantly win their respect.

Your unhealthy fixation with Audley needs to stop now! The gravy train is over, the dizzying heights of heavyweight supremacy long gone!

Ditto for Howard Eastman and equivalent middleweight dizziness.
