Re: Kell brook gives props to boxrec-indepth interview re porter
Glad to see him say some of those things. He has to remember though he has been in title contention for about 3 years people are going to be massively frustrated with him for not having world title fights by now for what ever reason many may not even be his fault.
I personally think he is quality and hope he takes out Porter with style, he destroyed senchenko who i consider a gatekeeper to the top level so i think he has a real chance. I thought Brook would have beaten Alexander but i also thought Alexander would beat porter so its a tough one to call.
He wont get the credit he wants until he has stepped up - haters are haters he could beat floyd mayweather and they would still write crap about him.
I'll be firmly cheering on Special Kell.

I wish Kell the best and although he's a very good kid he doesn't have that special aura about him.. That X factor that Khan, Froch have and Calzaghe and Hatton had etc he kind of reminds me of Jnr Wittter sadly... I really hope I'm wrong but I can see Porter badly beating him and stopping him late..Shawn is not exactly a skilfull boxer but his bull like strength will be to much for Knell

Re: Kell brook gives props to boxrec-indepth interview re porter
If Kell were to demonstrate his power early on in the Porter fight, I think he will be able to keep the fight at distance. Which is where I feel Brook will win this fight. Despite the Malignaggi K.O. Porter hasn't shown the kind of power that would put Kell in serious trouble.
Kell needs to fight in a less methodical fashion and be prepared for the full 12, as Porter will be there at the final bell. He also needs to up his work rate, because Porter won't be a stationary target.
If Kell can make a few minor adjustments he could win this fight.

Do you hope you are wrong? You are aware that it would add a belt to Eddie Hearn's stable?Manchester Hitman wrote:I wish Kell the best and although he's a very good kid he doesn't have that special aura about him.. I would be delighted to be wrong and to see Kell win- I'll be up in front of the TV cheering
Him on just think Porter will be to much for him.
Re: Kell brook gives props to boxrec-indepth interview re porter
I think its a good fight and far from a foregone conclusion. Kell is a big strong welter with legit power and creates good angles to get his shots off and make them count. For a guy like Porter who likes to bull forward, walk through shots and pressure his opponents he might find Kell a real handful. Its hard to really back Kell strongly just due to the way his career has panned out and the lack of world class opposition, but equally I don't really see Porter as the 147lb beast some people make him out to be. I guess with the step up Porter has made over the last year or so, he has to be favourite, but Kell has more than enough to cause an upset in this one.

OK mate. I'd rather you were just consistent rather than chance your stance every 2 minutes.Manchester Hitman wrote:I'm not anti Eddie Hearn..I hope his dad allows him to stays in the game for many years to come.DMA1987 wrote:Do you hope you are wrong? The people who think Brook is going to get wiped out are the same people that thought porter was crap 1 fight ago.CheckHook wrote:I think its a good fight and far from a foregone conclusion. Im not sure what you mean guv..i havent changed my stance at all...i'm pro Warren he's the best in the business and has been a pillar of british boxing for over 30 years...that doesnt mean I dont want the Hearns to prosper, british boxing has never had it better, the more promoters the better.

Good post its like the cold war / arms race at the moment between warren and hearn they keep pushing each other to put bigger and better shows and fights on boxing is mainstream again at the moment.Manchester Hitman wrote:OK mate. OK mate, it had nothing to do with your pro Warren stance. Each to their own. More a complete anti Hearn stance you had taken up.Manchester Hitman wrote:Im not sure what you mean guv..i havent changed my stance at all...i'm pro Warren he's the best in the business and has been a pillar of british boxing for over 30 years...that doesnt mean I dont want the Hearns to prosper, british boxing has never had it better, the more promoters the better.
But hey if this on this thread is your actual stance then great. I can fully appreciate that.

Fast Car has done a good job politically to manage to keep Kell manadatory with the IBF after the Alexander farceDMA1987 wrote:DMA1987 wrote:OK mate. What's funny about that?
Re: Kell brook gives props to boxrec-indepth interview re porter
Kell Brook if you're reading this:
you have 35 days to learn to fight inside. I hope you're practicing!
I think you'll get beat convincingly by Porter but if I'm wrong I'll be the first to hold my hands up and admit I was wrong on this forum

Manc Hitman,
The "farce" that you're referring to.
Can you just publicly state your view on the Alexander pull out - through injury - was that a farce ?
Or is it only injuries sustained by a Brit that are a farce ?

The whole thing was a farce on both sides - three pullouts...mayweather sniffing around Devon and then finally a pub brawler like Purdy getting to fight for one the most prestigious titles in boxing after first boiling down literally with Hearn snr from super middle...I doubt the IBF was happy = farce.

Porter looked good against Malignaggi. In the US and with the jet lag I thinkBrook will get stopped. Ingle fighters look amazing against average opposition but can get found out and look ordinary against top pros

So it's a farce when fighters have to withdraw from fights due to correctly documented injuries ?
I bet you hated Barker.

Re: Kell brook gives props to boxrec-indepth interview re porter
Brook getting knockout or he will knock porter out i am really tempted to put huge money on brook 2/1 (maybe 4/1 for the stoppage) win looks so tempting and then i will go to Vegas for the Mayweather card. (tits up if i do back brook)

Fcuk sake mate I've already answered this.. I said everything was a farce both camps, the injuries..Purdy as a replacement (even fast Eddie know that was a joke he never went overParson Cross wrote:So it's a farce when fighters have to withdraw from fights due to correctly documented injuries ?

For it - left it to daddy)....the build up the lot...I doubt Alexander was injured he was looking for mayweather IMO and who can blame him...as for Brook well again I have no proof but he was clearly struggling to get down to welter and his next fight after that was at light middle so make of that what you will.
As for Barker..one might argue it was almost criminal going over to sturm and being paid 1m when he was incapable of fighting.. I didn't bother me in the slightest, infact it made me chuckle and I'm happy he got the big pay day to secure his family but questions could well have been asked if boxing was a regulated sport.
Re: Kell brook gives props to boxrec-indepth interview re porter
That he finally light middle months after the Alexander date? I'd say that's probably because he way injured seeing as he made the weight for Senchenko a little bit after.Manchester Hitman wrote:Fcuk sake mate I've already answered this..
