Boxers and their legs
I came across this interesting newspaper article from 1922 written by Robert Edgren.
He discusses past&present(1922)boxers(and other athletes of the time),and who had the best and strongest legs of them all.

Re: Boxers and their legs
You know who I think had one the best pair of legs of the various Heavyweight Champions since 1922?
WBA Heavyweight Champion Gerrie Coetzee.
Looks like he may have played Rugby and did some scrumming on more then one occasion.

If I remember correctly, Granberry liked a strong back on a man.

Yes, he appeared to have quite an appetite for strapping young lads in tight shorts flexing their muscles.Flump wrote:If I remember correctly, Granberry liked a strong back on a man.

Hey Man,
Dont you think you two guys would be more comfortable posting over at the"Off Topic"forum here at Boxrec.com?
i have read some of the postings there and IMOP you two ,J.P and Tuan_Jim would be a terrific choice
to add to the "Brain Trust" they have going on over over there.
This forum is(or use to be)a forum for serious discussion about olde tyme Boxing and Boxers.

Re: Boxers and their legs
Actually its funny how many heavyweights right up to the 1930s seemed to be top heavy like Bob Fitzsimmons. Big torsos with thin legs. I guess better nutrition later on corrected that.

Clueless buzz the Ali groveler and flump the purveyor of homosexuality know more than Bob Edgren about boxing.Caractacus wrote:I came across this interesting newspaper article from 1922 written by Robert Edgren.

They have nothing to learn from Bob Edgren.
In fact they don't even know who he is.
Their mission is to keep this site as the clueless laughingstock that it is.
You are wasting your time trying to post something worthwhile on this pathetic site.
Notice how clueless buzz and gayboy flump show up IMMEDIATELY to destroy anything of actual value about boxing.
What a sick existence these two clowns live.

HWs today don't have thicker legs overall. Look at the Klitschkos and Lewis . . they are top heavy with thin legs too.Cap wrote:Actually its funny how many heavyweights right up to the 1930s seemed to be top heavy like Bob Fitzsimmons. Both Jack Johnson and Larry Holmes had thin legs too.

Jim J. Jeffries in his 1910 autobiography estimated that Bob Fitzsimmons was at 'least a third stronger then Tom Sharkey" was.

You know what other Heavyweight Champion had legs like an Oak tree too?
My favorite all-time heavyweight Champion of the World, Big George Foreman.
Check out how he moves around the ring in this clip.

Never speak bad about another, when you are tempted to do so, write your thoughts in the sand at the oceans edge.
Oh...and Hello, and Goodbye.
That was actually a very impressive Houdini moment, unbanning yourself like that. I can only hope my juju outranks your mojo.

Re: Boxers and their legs
Joe Louis aka'The Brown Bomber" also had a big pair of thick legs.
I think he developed them when he was in his late teens when he worked at the Ford Motor company in Detroit Michigan.
His job was to push car body frames along a line to where they were painted, except the didnt move so easily.
He use to be so tired by the end of the day, that he would go straight upstairs and fall into bed
and go to sleep without eating dinner.
