Glen McCrory

Post by Mimmy »

How the hell did Glen get one of the best jobs in the world being a pundit on Sky Sports? Just because he won a weak cruiserweight title, but more to the point lost it in the defence against a half decent US boxer. I just don't get it! apart from that I just cannot (or canna) understand a bloody word he's going on about! In general Geordies do not find any work more to the point on TV. Bloody hell I only know one other famous Geordie and that the bird who married that football player and has a massive tattoo on her leg. Oh sorry I know a genuine Geordie Gazza, he was quality. Remember the goal against Scotland?

Anyway rant over all I can say is that the day Glen got that job it was like winning the bloody lottery.

I don't get that. To me he's clear and I like his comments. Much better than Johnny Nelson

Bit rich a bloke from the complete hellhole that is Doncaster attacking people hailing from Newcastle, like. It's not really a fighting town, so what.

it's true like. McCrory's not a bad pundit. He's not Teddy Atlas but he ambles along well enough.

How very dare you? Doncaster gave you the fastest steam locomotive, It also gave you Bruce Woodcock and the A1 to the north. Allotments, pigeon racing, greyhound racing, flatcaps, chewing tobacco, honeycomb tripe, cod roe, 20 miles from Sheffield. An airport that flies to Benedorm, Nuttal's Mintos, Devvo, I repeat Devvo!

He is a mediocre pundit at best. He seems a nice bloke but he has no busyness commenting on Sky, IMO. Johnny Nelson maybe worse but his job at Sky is not so much punditry as more of presenting. No complains about accent.

FairPlay to him criticizing Gallagher about fielding and Smith.

Why talk about being world champion when you're not proving you are the best in Liverpool

McCrory can seem unintelligible at times that much is true.

Both he and Nelson are far from great pundits.

His words seem to just dribble out of his mouth at times but I think he gives an honest opinion far more often than his colleagues and has always seemed a good bloke.

This...

We want our pundits to say it as it is, if not it's boring and predictable.

I so think Sky have the worst pundits an commentators; but at least they don't use that 7ft horse headed creature from the black lagoon with the tongue too big for his mouth. Ronald McDonald. To be honest since Carpenter and gutteridge passed there have been no good boxing presenters / commentators....

Boxing seems to be the bottom end of the presenting world

Ronald McIntosh is a good presenter, his physical characteristics shouldn't come into it.

I reckon Ant and Dec have done relatively well, and are arguably the most famous presenters in the UK?

Glen is a decent pundit, who doesnt sit on the fence. He also seems a very guy nice too. IMO he's a good part of the Sky boxing setup.
