Two guys with some craft in there. Close fight but Herrera seems to have more in the tank.

perez is busier and moves his hands much more but most of those
punches miss entirely, a few slaps land. Herrera lands the clean meaningful
punches every round. I think perez will win rounds that he really doesn't
deserve just because he's moving his hands and what Herrera does defensively is
very subtle. look like Herrera is content countering off the ropes and avoiding perez
and letting perez ware himself out flailing

I've got Herrera behind. Not a good look for Swift Garcia.

I like Herrera. He doesn't get by on his physical talent, but on his technique and ring I.Q.

Has Herrera had that many bad decisions go against him? Brit commentators are making it seem like he's been robbed a bunch of times.

He was in close ones against Provodnikov, Garcia, Alvarado, and Anchondo, but the Garcia and Anchondo fights are probably the only two which he should have gotten the nod. I thought Provodnikov should have gotten the decision and the Alvarado fight was close, but Alvarado pulled it out at the end.

Lopez down and without legs near the end of the third. It'll take a huge effort to come back from that.

30-26 Vargas
