Anyone know how many boxers at one time use to be Blacksmith's?

Re: Fightin' Blacksmiths
Also how many years were each involved in the trade?
Re: Fightin' Blacksmiths
Les Darcy was a blacksmith before becoming a fighter.
A 1920s and 1930s journeyman light-heavyweight named Frankie Wine worked as blacksmith when he was a teenager in Roundup, Montana before his fighting career began and in the vicinity of Barberton, Ohio after it ended.

Joe Choynski was a blacksmith at one time.
Al Kaufmann who fought Jack Johnson was also a blacksmith.
Tom Heeney who fought Gene Tunney was a blacksmith from New Zealand.

Because I find it far more entertaining to mock the way you start threads then adopt a different character to respond when it's clear nobody gives a fornicate about them. Why don't you try shutting your multiple pie-holes that you can't seem to stop opening 100 times a day, even after you've been banned for being an annoying fantasist and liar?

Must have had powerful right hands.
Make me wonder if back in the day their jobs were their conditioning.
Today, athletes hire strength and conditioning coaches. Back then, life was strength and conditioning.

Re: Fightin' Blacksmiths
the light-heavyweight Tiger Jack Fox from Indiana was also a blacksmith.
It would be interesting to know which boxing contenders or champions were
the last to have been blacksmiths,as that trade has almost vanished oveer the past decades.

Re: Fightin' Blacksmiths
Harry Matthews wasnt a blacksmith but his Dad was.
although he probably tinkered with it when he was young tho.
There is a difference between being a blacksmith and a blacksmith's apprentice.
I was just wondering how many years one had to be doing it
before it became a real assett to one boxing or if you did it too long if it hindered one's ability.

Incidentally saying Il Duce is a racist is not "race-baiting". You clearly don't understand the term, along with an awful lot of other terms.
Besides the fact that if you're not Il Duce, it isn't even directed at you. But you are, so it is.
