Re: Jimmy Barry:
All opinions are welcome. This does need to be discussed before I reveal the top 10 boxers for this season, so that I can put them in to the Super Six poll.
Re: Jimmy Barry:
For me, I would be reluctant to include Jimmy Barry in Super Six contention. Looking at his record, Buzz give the "soft option" practically every single time when he could have stepped up and fought the top contenders.
He's fought a ridiculously high amount of cpu opponents throughout the season (most of them weren't even World Champions in real life) and the facts are that:
1. He withdrew from the Title Elims.
2. He refused a Mando Defence against Terry McGovern.
3. He shied away from entering the fire-test that is the MDT.
For me, it's been a despicable way to Manage a fighter. If a Manager (any Manager) is not willing to test his fighter(s) against the very best, then what is the point in playing?
I don't mean to get personal here, I actually quite like Buzz as a human being. But I'm strongly against this sort've treatment being rewarded with a slot in the last Six.

Re: Jimmy Barry: Have your say
He does deserve to be in Crease whether you agree with Buzz's style of management or not he once again did a stellar job. Barry is the UNDISPUTED champion and deserves his place in the super six.
Re: Jimmy Barry: Have your say
We've taken the fights we've had to take, at the time we needed to take them, to manage our way to the top.
IF you choose to eliminate me from contention....then the way to determine the super six should not be based on hard work of a manager, but simply the rating of the fighter when they arrived to the sim.
We had our fighter face the winner of that tournament which was so highly touted......and we won. Pretty good strategery if you ask me. And Barry's held a few titles along the way as well. We don't send our fighters into the abyss, we send them to the winners circle.
We did this with one of the last drafted first round picks. If we had Eder Jofre we would have used a different approach...as we did when had a top pic with Tommy Gibbons.
Sometimes it's about threading the needle sometimes it's about plowing the snow.
And by the way, don't think I'm the only one who attempted this strategy....just had a bit more luck with it. So I admit I'm lucky....always have been.....so for this I'm disqualified?
Let's just put an end to raffles, and lotteries then.

Re: Jimmy Barry: Have your say
It's not my preferred method, but he has done a good job, and has won when he had to.
Perhaps he shouldn't be, but I think you have to let him in there.

Re: Jimmy Barry: Have your say
Apparently the sim does not need managers unless they utilize "approved behaviors" by "those who decide".
Perhaps we should be assigned fighters, and then the "boss" decides what moves we can or can not make during the course of the game.....and then we are informed how we did at the end of the season.
Sign me up!
The days of Cap'n Kirk are obviously dead and gone. lol.

Re: Jimmy Barry: Have your say
Fair enough gentlemen, you have made a strong argument for Barry and you have convinced that he should be included in the shortlist.
There is no fascism at play here, Managers can manage any way that they should so wish.

Re: Jimmy Barry: Have your say
Damn right.....and let's not forget it......and take this boot to the keyster with ya...as a reminder.
Re: Jimmy Barry: Have your say
The poll is pointless for that the most likely outcome is he declines the Super Six. If Barry goes in, I don't see him doing well. Either way, he gets exposed....
Re: Jimmy Barry: Have your say
Geto....Barry was never beaten in life.
He wasn't and isn't "exposable".....other than his greatness being further advertised.
As a gambler you know there are few "sure things" in life. Barry is one.
You owe me an apology.
