Froch v Degale
Froch v Degale
Todays Sun quotes Hearn as saying this fight is about to be made and may be later this year, also mentioned Cleverly v Bellew as chief support for the PPV card.
I can't see them filling Wembley Stadium for this one.

Re: Froch v Degale
Cakewalk for Froch - degale is going to take one hell of a beating - could be a career ender for him. I can't see anything that suggests Degale has anything in his locker to trouble Froch. Froch is obviously getting on a bit, but his training regime means his decline is slow, and he's still a physical monster in there.
I'd be amazed if Degale went the distance, and it might be better for him if he didn't.

I can't see many PPVs for the bill.tony1234 wrote:Todays Sun quotes Hearn as saying this fight is about to be made and may be later this year, also mentioned Cleverly v Bellew as chief support for the PPV card.

Froch V Degale (an unlikeable boxer v a very unlikeable boxer)
And
Bellew v Cleverley (a very unlikeable boxer v a neither here or there likeable boxer)

Re: Froch v Degale
What if they stick Joshua in against an opppnent such as Gerber, Rogan or Sexton and a little rib tickler in Callum Smith v Robin Reid. £18 quid payers are we?
Froch is going to single handedly ruin the future of the British super-middleweight division. I want him to fight the dream fight he wants, in Las Vegas.
I can see why he'd continue his UK assault though. Why travel when he can make 'Froch' a household name. Got to be a massive fight next though and he'll be another training camp older

Re: Froch v Degale
I've always thought DeGale would be a tough fight for Froch so will be looking forward to this one.
Still a bit of an underwhelming fight though, shame there's not really a huge name for Froch to finish his career on.

Re: Froch v Degale
All wrong for Froch this fight and can see him losing his title s
Re: Froch v Degale
I can see it being competitive but ultimately I believe Froch gets the win.
I would much prefer to see him go to Vegas and fight Chavez, GGG or even a Ward rematch.
But I also understand that making those fights is easier said than done, whereas a Degale fight would be really easy to make, I just hope they put together a decent undercard otherwise it may be a tough sell.

Froch did a Q&A at a festival I was at no Saturday, said that Degale needs to fight someone else before fighting him, still wants the Chavez jnr fight in Vegas.

Whether Degale deserves the fight or not isn't Frochs decision,Degale has had the final eliminators so he should get his shot.

I think some people have short memories... James Degale Is an Olympic gold medalist who received exposure infront of millions on the BBC. Eddie Hearn/SKy will easily be able to Come up with a marketing plan for the fight and I would reckon the PPV totals will be higher then Froch - Groves 1 by far

Agreed. I've mentioned it to non-boxing fans and their ears picked up. It would capture the public's attention and will be interesting to see how degale approaches the task compared to Groves.Manchester Hitman wrote:I think some people have short memories... A Bellow - Cleverly rematch on the undercard means that you would have a really decent bill.

Re: Froch v Degale
Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr would be an XXL heavy bag for Froch.
I still would like to see it as Chavez would probably come into the ring as crusierweight and their styles would gel well.
But I actually think Degale vs Froch would be a more competitive fight; suprised jamesmcdonnell thinks it would be a blow out.

no chance of this doing more than the groves fight , degale might of won a gold 6 years ago but he's been in the shadows ever since he is hardly know outside of boxing fans and the ones that do only know him as the man groves beat . the only way this sell PPV is if hearn markets this as frochs last fight and builds on that, degale couldn't sell out a 3000 seater hall never mind a PPV
Re: Froch v Degale
The fight will do fine at the box office. Especially with Bellew v Clevelry as chief support. Wont do Froch v Groves 2 type numbers but will be respectable, Froch v Groves 1/Froch v Kessler 2 type numbers. Oh and Froch will KO him early on. Good matchup for him

I'm not tipping against Carl, I've come unstuck too many times, but James won't be getting stopped early, he's got a very good chin.

If it happens it wont be until 2015.
Re: Froch v Degale
He does, I don't think he will end up getting highlight reeled like Groves but will get stuck against the ropes ala Bute with ref stopping itmickey1975 wrote:I'm not tipping against Carl, I've come unstuck too many times, but James won't be getting stopped early, he's got a very good chin.
Re: Froch v Degale
Predictable, really. Eddie didn't sign DeGale for the sake of it, he always wanted another Brit to fight the winner of Froch vs Groves.tony1234 wrote:Todays Sun quotes Hearn as saying this fight is about to be made and may be later this year, also mentioned Cleverly v Bellew as chief support for the PPV card.

That's the pay-per-view angle. Not that it'll be a good fight, but because they're both British.
If it's £18, doubt I'll buy it. It aint a great fight, and I don't really like DeGale. I didn't buy Groves vs DeGale because Chunky had been such a colossal bellend in the lead up to the fight, I couldn't bear for him to get any of my money. Bad enough he was on the undercard of the last PPV I ordered.

the odd time he's boxed a defensive fight.
more often than not he stands in the pocket and fires back.

No offence but I really don't understand boxing fans like you TBH...he called George nursery insults like 'ugly kid' and accused him of having bad breath hardly the worst offences in a brutal sport like boxing.ILikeBeer wrote:Predictable, really. fair enough if you dont want to pay because you think it will be a rubbish fight or whatever and I don't know if you know/met James which reinforces your belief he's a twat but Ive met him have once at a show and he came across as a perfectly decent guy as other people who know him personally have told me.
