David Tua was an all time great

He has additional good wins against Fres Oquendo, Oleg Maskaev, David Izon, Darroll Wilson and Danell Nicholson. Nothing wrong with any of that. His greatness confirmed.

He kind of rode a lucky streak of stopping as you say B level fighters who were well on the way to outpointing him. He's more of a footnote in the era rather than a great. That he couldn't hunt down Chris Bryd in 2001, just about sums up his B level ability.

What are you watching? Rahman was practically shutting Tua out until the late punch. He dominated their rematch "draw" as well . . .

Rahman floored Tua in that final round of the rematch as well. He deserved the decision. Mind you Rahman of the time wasn't too bad a fighter. It's all B level stuff though.

You're not the only one who saw that one either. I was 13 and watching that fight when that punch came just as the bell sounded, and no I wouldn't claim that Molinares "legitimately" won, though he was originally credited with the win.

Tua was never stopped in nearly 60 fights.. He handed John Ruiz his only prime stoppage and did it in 19 seconds. He beat Rahman in the first fight regardless of being behind. He beat several other decent fringe types as well. The guy was no bum as you so often like to make modern fighters out to be.

Lennox got his title out the bin.

He had plenty chances, he just wasnt good enough. I dont care how many fights he wasnt stopped in, he's as close to being an all time great as your are to being a decent poster.

I gotta disagree with that . He knocked out a young skinny beardless Ruiz I wouldn't call that a prime version . I think the Ruiz with the beard and 15-20 pounds more outboxes Tua 119-109
