David Tua was an all time great
He was never stopped in 59 fights. He beat John Ruiz and Michael Moorer who both beat Evander Holyfield. He beat Hasim Rahman who beat Lennox Lewis and the great Corrie Sanders. He has additional good wins against Fres Oquendo, Oleg Maskaev, David Izon, Darroll Wilson and Danell Nicholson. Nothing wrong with any of that. His greatness confirmed.

You must be bored out of your mind
Re: David Tua was an all time great
He was one of the greatest b level fighters of all time.

Re: David Tua was an all time great
He kind of rode a lucky streak of stopping as you say B level fighters who were well on the way to outpointing him. He's more of a footnote in the era rather than a great. That he couldn't hunt down Chris Bryd in 2001, just about sums up his B level ability.
Re: David Tua was an all time great
Tua was a top contender of his time. But he was no great fighter, as evidenced by the fact that he never held a World Title, when there were four of 'em to be picked up.

He had power, a very strong chin.... but he could get outboxed (Lennox, Chris Byrd)
Re: David Tua was an all time great
The OP is surely joking. Tua beat "the great Corrie Sanders"

What you typed is plain for all to see. I tried to give you a way out by suggesting you were making a vain attempt at humour. Now I know for sure you were just posting your usual drivel.

Apparently not plain enough for you who claimed that I said Tua beat Sanders, which I just showed you I didn't.What you typed is plain for all to see.
Well thank you for your assistance.I tried to give you a way out by suggesting you were making a vain attempt at humour.

You know very little about anything, not surprised you can't recognize this either.
I suppose your next thread will be about Tomas Molinares epic KO over Marlon Starling.

What are you watching? Rahman was practically shutting Tua out until the late punch. He dominated their rematch "draw" as well . . .drunkenpiper36 wrote:I didn't know that pounding the shlt out of a guy in route to a stoppage was getting schooled.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Rock schooled Tua twice.

Re: David Tua was an all time great
Rahman floored Tua in that final round of the rematch as well. He deserved the decision. Mind you Rahman of the time wasn't too bad a fighter. It's all B level stuff though.
Re: David Tua was an all time great
In many eras he would have been champion.

He was active in a very easy era to become champion, four paper titles and he didn't manage one

Well I'm on holiday in Barcelona, mortal drunk and posted whilst on the pan. You are still an idiot when it comes to boxing, the great Corrie fucken Sanders.

You're not the only one who saw that one either. I was 13 and watching that fight when that punch came just as the bell sounded, and no I wouldn't claim that Molinares "legitimately" won, though he was originally credited with the win.

What the f-ck was so easy about fighting in era where men like Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield were champions? Okay I was joking about him being an all time great, but part of the reason why I started this thread was because I knew people like you would make statements like the above one. Tua was never stopped in nearly 60 fights.. He handed John Ruiz his only prime stoppage and did it in 19 seconds. He beat Rahman in the first fight regardless of being behind. He beat several other decent fringe types as well. The guy was no bum as you so often like to make modern fighters out to be.

Lennox got his title out the bin.
He had plenty chances, he just wasnt good enough. I dont care how many fights he wasnt stopped in, he's as close to being an all time great as your are to being a decent poster.
Re: David Tua was an all time great
I gotta disagree with that . He knocked out a young skinny beardless Ruiz I wouldn't call that a prime version . I think the Ruiz with the beard and 15-20 pounds more outboxes Tua 119-109drunkenpiper36 wrote:Tomasino wrote:actjac wrote:In many eras he would have been champion.
