Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
Have some of you lot not seen much of Ustinov? To call him a plodder is offensive to plodders. He's a big, clumsy oaf who is edging towards 40, has an over-inflated record and, whilst he did fight in November, he has fought twice in the last 20 months and doesn't hit nearly as hard as one would think for such a big man, as seen in his fight with Barret (yeah he dropped Barrett early but failed to finish the job).
Fury will jab his bollocks off, just like Pulev did.
Good fight given the short notice but no where as good as a Chisora bout would have been.

Props if they save the show with a reasonable opponent, but like he says - he floats like a Sperm Whale and stings like a moth.
I forecast Fury will jab early, lay it on late.

not a bad save at all
Fury out of action any longer would have been ridiculous.
Ustinov is a huge limited lug....but at least hes a huge limited lug...
should be a very ugly...very entertaining scrap

I have to admit, Ustinov is a much better opponent than I expected.
Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
Totally agree, he might not be a world beater as some idiots wantTuan_Jim wrote:I have to admit, Ustinov is a much better opponent than I expected.
But with 4 days notice this was never going to happen
Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
More chance of Peter Ustinov beating him
Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
Even more impressive is that Danny Williams is only 3 degrees of seperation from being greater than AliCorncrake wrote:This win would make Fury greater than Ali![]()

I think this is a good fight given the circumstances. Expect Fury to win, but at 4 days notice you can't argue with this at all.

Exactly. I'm no fan of FW but he has to be given credit here for this.Happy Slapper wrote:I think this is a good fight given the circumstances. Expect Fury to win, but at 4 days notice you can't argue with this at all.

He has to beat Audley to be greater than AliCorncrake wrote:This win would make Fury greater than Ali![]()

Does anyone know which British referee has been designated to ruin this contest?
If Fury comes right at Ustinov he could get hurt, go down. I don't think Fury can hurt Ustinov, but Fury has enjoyed several stoppages over men he could not apparently hurt.

Not sure yet but it's the safest bet of the night that they'll cock it up.Tuan_Jim wrote:Does anyone know which British referee has been designated to ruin this contest?

At least it's a reasonable fight for people who bought tickets
Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
It's an excellent replacement. I was cynical about the entire episode earlier in the week and didn't expect Fury to fight. I apologize unreservedly for that. They've done well and deserve credit.tony1234 wrote:At least it's a reasonable fight for people who bought tickets
Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
They have done really well and fair play to Ustinov for stepping in and up to the plate. Fury should be too quick and busy though if he gets whacked on the chin he'll know about it. Fury deserves respect, he must have been gutted this time yesterday, hope he wins and gets a run of good luck and good results.
Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
Speaking of Danny he was due to have his 'farewell' fight (how many is that now?) against Boris Estenfelder on Saturday but apparently it's been called off.PokerRob wrote:Even more impressive is that Danny Williams is only 3 degrees of seperation from being greater than AliCorncrake wrote:This win would make Fury greater than Ali![]()

Surprised he didn't get the Fury job, presumably as he was ALSO due to fight this weekend, he's in shape?
Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
I think it will be one of the funniest things EVER if Fury loses on Saturday, I will laugh long and hard.

Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
why do you think Ustinov is better than Chisora? Ustinov is really bad and he is getting old. His best win is Denis Bakhtov . If Fury has troubles with Ustinov then he must forget about Wlad or even Joshua or Wilder. And I forgot, Usitnov is not a heavy puncher as you are saying.
Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
Ustinov looks like he can bang, is nearly the same height as Fury and has only lost to Pulev. Even though I am starting to like Fury a lot, I think Fury is going to get chinned here.
Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
I think they've done well to get someone to step in. The men better than Chisora would likely prefer a full camp to face Fury. At least he gets a fight and his fans get to see him. Ustinov isn't as good as Chisora but is better than others that could have been thrown in. At 4 days notice, what do you expect?
Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
Cìmon people. Ustinov didn't face anybody. The only step up he had (against Pulev), he lost. If Fury will have too many problems it will mean that Fury is not good at all...

Re: Nearly confirmed Fury v Ustinov this weekend!
I think Ustinov is a great last minute replacement,he's no world beater but he can punch and he's massive, strong enough to deck Fury but i doubt he'll test Fury's chin too much and i expect a cagey fight from Tyson but looking good doing it
