In his autobiography, Dick Nelson – Mit Liv og Mine Kampe (1920), Dick Nelson identifies his opponent in both cases as Auguste Degand who is also pictured in the book.
The date for the fight in 1913 seems to be correct. The second fight was held in Paris (Palais de la Boxe) 1914-04-07 and was won on points by Degand according to French newspapers La Lanterne and Gil Blas (1914-04-08).
