what I mean is he's been dragged around the world to be gawked at for years. He's done his time at the lower ranks and he finally got his chance and taken it. Well done, hope he does well.
agreed although he's never really fought out of europe in a meaninful fight, he's always been dubbed a freak show. couple of no brainers in korea and that it.

Yes Don King seemed strangely pleased that his fighter just lost. I guess he had long ago realized that having Valuev for a few fights is worth a lot more $ than Ruiz ever could bring in.

Don has been trying to get rid of Ruiz ever since he lost to Jones Jr.
You can see from the press in the UK that Valuev gets column inches....
He was in most tabloids on friday/Saturday with big photograph too... that is pretty rare...
I think he has a big picture in the metro too today......

Ruiz has done well at earned a lot of money being extremely average.... so why cannot someone else

Poor old Ruiz, what a patsy! He's calling for Don King to get him a rematch, and King is already running around waving the Russian flag. He blatantly wanted rid of Ruiz, and agreeing to fight Valuev on what amounts to home turf was an obvious statement of that.

How did Ruiz's face get bruised that bad if Valuev hardly did anything! Valuev has some marks too but not as much as Ruiz.
The WBA aren't going to grant a rematch. Hell, they didn't grant a rematch to Reid when he was utterly shafted by Tillerman in the Ottke fight, and that was a very controversial fight.
Ruiz can forget it, Don King won't be interested in him until Valuev loses and by then he will probably have more heavyweights.
