You're wrong. The first rule of being a pedantic twat is to have your ducks in a line.

Coming usage in events with medals as the prize  "so and so has a chance to medal" etc etc etc

Either way though, I'm just trying to find some new amateurs to follow.

McFadden is doing great. Glad to see it.

It's a pointless exercise. An throwback from empire times and should be canned.
My god, I would love to see a better team than Quais and Fowler on. You're tripping.
Quais hasn't put a foot wrong yet, his final with Conlon should be a classic. Two Yorkshire fighters through on Yorkshire day :TU:

Not sure if this has been answered somewhere else but why no English Light Heavy and light fly? This isnt the Olympics so why hasnt a full squad been sent?

can only send 11 boxers i think, and they sent some women instead they have some top class women who had a better chance of medals, medas = funding

I really enjoyed the boxing and just put my feet up yesterday and somehow managed to watch most of the finals.... despite some of the Beeb's bloody frustrating switching around and finding myself stuck with diving and doubles squash.

Not all the performances or divisions were truly world class, it is the Commonwealths afterall, but I thought that some of the Brits were extremely good. The English middle Fowler was realy aggressive, properly strong but also poised and put a proper beating on a much more experienced Indian opponent. That was good and he was my pick.

Liked Joe Joyce and (definitely) Fitzgerald as well, Scott sorted out a slickster by just being patient and landing some good, clean punches. Plenty of cred to our celtic breathren as well; Conlan could be exciting if he turns-over and cheeky little Charlie Flynn was just so made up to have won that I could not help smiling.

Been interesting to see what Fowler, Joyce and Fitzgerald have got planned. They all looked like powerful guys who could do well in the pro ranks.

@dubliner....she actually had an okay-ish case because she was very busy and pushed Adams back a fair bit. But the cleaner, easier to score, stuff was coming from Nicola and that's why she got the nod. The NI girl was properly stroppy before she get her medal, always giving the #1 sign to the camera as they waited to go into the arena. She clearly cared and was heartbroken, no harm in that!

Fowler, Conlan, Fitzgerald, Barnes and the Aussie lad Moloney were the real picks for me.

The NI girl also reckons she was robbed in the Wold championships as well .....

Fowler is a top prospect boxing wise, not sure he comes across well though personality wise.

Nicola Adams is a good example of a person with talent and also a great positive personality.

I'm biased, but I thought Conlon got away with murder in the final. The bantams were quality. The Irish girl was a terrible sportswoman, it was a close fight. On the old scoring system, she'd have lost about 15-3!

Probably worth giving a shout out to Savanah Marshall as well, she's had a bad time of it and was only half-prepared but with a jab like that she should stick around for Rio and definitely have another crack at the Olympics. One or two of the lads don't have a jab that straight and fast, she's was knocking some heads back with it.
