I predict that Kovalev wins by clear decision and that Hopkins holds excessively, runs excessively, fakes injury from phantom low blow or phantom head butt or something ridiculous in order to stall and buy time simply to last the decision. He did the same thing against Calzaghe and nobody ever talks about that. Hopkins was gassed and faked injury more than once late in that fight just to catch his breath in order to finish.

I wonder what you're going to say about Kovalev once he loses this fight? I guess he can go back to fighting the BOTM club and rebuild his hype.

We'll see, the problem with most people is that they see this with blinded eyes; BHop can't win because he's too old and Kovalev hits too hard"...................that's all you guys see.

What you don't see is that Kovalev is a very basic fighter, he loads up on his power off his back foot. BHop will expose the flaws that Sergey has, he will make him pick that foot up and as soon as he does that's when he'll get hit 2-3 times and Nard will be out of there or at another angle avoiding the return fire.

This fight will resemble the KP fight without as much outgoing from BHop, he'll probably stink out the joint with 1-2 shot counters but he'll make Kovalev look like a student fighting a Master the same way Hopkins did Pavlik.

If all you have is power against a slick boxer like Hopkins then you've already lost.

The only fight Hopkins is not eager to make is Ward, and that's for other reasons than fear of losing.

I have never been a fan of Hopkins, but I do respect his greatness. I applaud him for taking on this Monster at his advanced age of 49-50. I hope he earns a ton of money for this fight even though I don't like him. He doesn't need this and yet he is doing it anyway. I once again applaud his valor. I just hope he doesn't stink out the joint with his tactics on the way to a one-sided loss. If he wins this fight I would admit that I don't know the first thing about boxing after watching it as my favorite sport for nearly 50 years. I would be shocked.

That's the thing with Hopkins. Can't count him out. If Hopkins can make Kovalev respect him early then he has a chance. If Hopkins can't get the respect Kovalev will stop him. Honestly though I don't see Hopkins beating Kovalev.

Not excited about this fight, I was still hoping for Stevenson/Kovalev.

All due credit to the old man for taking on the guy everybody was saying he wouldn't fight but I hope this is his last fight.
He's an all-time great and all that stuff but I'm sick of the ageless wonder thing, it's long past time to be out with old, in with new.
For nearly 10 years we've been hearing what a big deal it is every time he wins because of his age, that's long enough.


oh..........and when he does lose people suddenly want to ignore his age and act like it's some grand accomplishment to beat him, his age only matters when he wins.
No...........................if you're going to buy into the age thing when he wins then you have to take it into account when he loses too.
If his age means he gets more credit for his wins when they happen then his age also means that anybody who beats him gets less credit because of the fact that they beat an old man.

What else does he have?? Speed?? Counterpunching?? Defense?? Does he set traps? Is his jab superior?? Does he use angles??

I've seen a bunch of his fights and I've seen nothing outside of the basic come forward throwing bombs off the back foot, I got it''''''you're impressed by his power and so is everyone else but that's all I see.

So, what's wrong with this?? Foreman was doing the same thing and a bigger deal was being made about him than it is about Hopkins, Nard is beating guys who are almost half his age and making it look easy. If Hopkins was a different nationality he would be elevated to a level above the average sports figure (pretend there isn't a color line in boxing if you want).

IMHO they're not celebrating BHop enough, these younger guys have nearly all the other advantages over him (speed, power, youth, endurance and a few others) and all he has is mostly his experience and a good chin and he's still making them look stupid.

He's an American and yet we have Americans who want to see him lose/fail, that's pretty pathetic and unpatriotic IMHO.

Y'all keep hating though, there will be some broken hearts when he beats Kovalev for sure.

It's tiresome, I don't find anything exceptional about the performances themselves, and I wasn't following boxing when Foreman was fighting so that's irrelevant. Your comment about skin color is also just speculation.

You picked Sillakh to beat Kovalev yet you gave Kovalev no credit when he scored a quick, brutal KO, so your complaints about fighters not getting due credit are hypocritical.
