How good do you think Ike Ibeabuch woud have been

Sorry killed the last name I am sure. Think he would have dominated the division for years tell his chin went, and A Klitchko cought him.

I don't think it flies. Clearly he had a bit of a psychotic personality, which in part probably helped him as a fighter. He was always going to go off the rails. Also the fact he completely blew up in weight inside perhaps indicates he wouldn't have probably stayed a spartan once he gained more fame and financial means. I don't really think he would have dominated the division to be honest.

Well, obviously we'll never know but it seems he had the potential to be heavyweight champion - what would have happened after that is anyones guess.

Alot of potential. Very solid chin, good stamina and power.

He looked awesome in destroying blown up light heavy/cruiser Byrd, but was unable to outbox Tua and only really beat him on volume. I think he'd have been widely outpointed by Lewis, but he certainly would have had a puncher's chance. He'd probably stop Ruiz, Vitali would widely outpoint him, he'd have a good chance of stopping a pre-Brewster Wlad, but would lose widely to him post-Brewster.

So I guess he'd have been a titlist, but not a dominant champion.

I think that's a fair assessment.

He was a hell of an offensive fighter, but overall I cannot say his defense and all around ability was that great. He could take murderous punches (as the Tua fight shows) and he could deliver him (as the Byrd fight shows). However, therein lied his downfall, he was so busy being offensive he just took bomb after bomb and just ate them. Clearly, nobody can take those kind of shots and come out the same man as you entered the ring to begin with. It clearly was the reason why his mental state deteriorated the way it did--- and if I am not mistaken he was also on drugs.

I think he went as far as he could go, all things considered. For all we know, the next fight he could of had he could of been blown away by a able bodied journeyman--- considering how far mentally gone he was at that point. Maybe he could of stretched it for another year or so, but I have no doubt that someone like Lewis, Bowe, Holyfield, would of defeated him.

And Lennox Lewis went life & death with a man a 42-year old Larry Holmes barely broke a sweat against. Ibeabuchi was a beast.

He would have had a very short distinguished peak and would have been finished thereafter based on the volume of punches he took so dismissively.in that regard he would be like mayorga or razor ruddock

Kinda strange, usually the annual Ibeabuchi threads come out in January or February.
It's hard to say how good he would have been because we only have 2 fights to judge him by. It's certainly possible that he would have have had a good run, but it's pretty much speculation.
