Vic Drackulich
Re: Vic Drackulich
This looks like some rather odd/shady action from Chaves' glove at the time of the DQ. why would you be rotating for first in a headlock.

To sum it up... Rios was dirty, Chaves was dirtier and Vic was awful piece of cr@p. Anyway, I dont see Chaves winning the fight either, as Rios was slowly making him dead tired.

How is Vic an Awful POS?
He made a good call. This is boxing. Chaves (as almost everyone agrees) was dirty.
Do you disputing fans ever respect a refs decision to disqualify? I thought Vics call was good.

I agree with the DQ.
Chaves was dirtier than muthafucker and took holding to another level.

Re: Vic Drackulich
May be I got carried away earlier.. But a DQ because of alleged "thumbing"..? That I don't agree with. Chaves was too dirty, but Rios was a bit also. If Vic gave Chaves another deduction, because of too much holding and not thumbing, for me that would suffice. Anyway, at least the less dirtier fighter won.chuck9788 wrote:I just don't get it!tanibanana wrote:To sum it up... Rios was dirty, Chaves was dirtier and Vic was awful piece of cr@p. Re: Vic Drackulich
There was only a round and a half left. In a very close important fight. Do your job as a ref and let the fighters decide the outcome.

Why anyone here was acting or expecting slow, easy to hit, blown up LW Rios to be or do anything special is beyond me. That's the reason Manny picked him because he doesn't have any skills, he's worse than Margarito, at least Margo had size to his credit.
This just shows how awful an opponent Rios was for Pacquiao.

lol exposed? gtfo...one point swing on the cards in a very close fight is far from being exposed.Brut wrote:diddy wrote:Rios looked good against awful little 135 lb guys who couldn't stand up to his aggression. Against bigger men he is exposed.

Re: Vic Drackulich
Vic should ref every fight. There should be more dq's but it should have been for holding. I laughed my butt off with Ward justifying Chaves' holding. I wonder why?

Fight fans continue to destroy boxing.
The rules need to be enforced more. We aren't savages like the Romans who were entertained by death and gore ... at least I'm not. We want combat sports with rules. Fight fans AND THOSE SHITTY HBO/SHOWTIME COMMENTATORS keep asking referees to let more and more infractions slide for what, entertainment?
He should have DQ'ed both, and they should have had 75% of their purses taken back. I've seen active criminals and gangsters respect the rules and fight fairly. Yet, these guys who are making so much money and getting so much exposure continue to bend the rules and make the sport look sloppy.
If boxing sets a precedent that bullshit won't be allowed, you will see a change in fighters. Also, for all you savages, this would be a good thing. Less holding and cheating and more

Re: Vic Drackulich
Really down 2 pts without any deductions for either guy and likely loses on the cards by 3-4 pts in an abbreviated 10 rd fight on a normal night. Chaves isn't really any good compared to many at 47. So yea. Exposed. Yes.demon1 wrote:lol exposed? gtfo...one point swing on the cards in a very close fight is far from being exposed.Brut wrote:diddy wrote:Rios looked good against awful little 135 lb guys who couldn't stand up to his aggression. I agree. You should get 4 clinches a round and after that it is a predetermined fine.BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Fight fans continue to destroy boxing.

Re: Vic Drackulich
Vic did an absolutely terrible job. The commentators should have called him out on it Teddy Atlas style.
Was Chaves dirty? Yes, but so was Rios (which is not uncommon). In addition to his own dirty tactics, Rios bitched and moaned throughout the fight about what Chaves was doing. Rios can say he didn't want to win by DQ after the fight and throw a hissy fit about being upset over it, but he knew what he was doing with all of his moaning and coaxing of Draculich.

Re: Vic Drackulich
Maybe he should have DQ'd both? Go back to a no-contest and withhold purses if they refuse to follow the rules. Now, that may sound a little extreme, but ref's need to be in control of the fights.
He or Joe Cooper would be a good one to ref Mayweather vs Maidana. Maybe when Maidana does his double leg takedown, he will be warned this time. Cooper is one of the few that have warned and penalized Khan for his excessive holding, shoving, and headlocks. I don't think it is a bad thing to enforce the rules.

Am I the only one who thought when first glancing at the current scene's list of threads, that this was about Dracula?

I didn't see the fight and I'm glad I didn't. Whether he was actually holding or not, it sounds like it was one ugly, crappy fight.

If he's going to issue a DQ, he should have DQ'd both guys and called it a no-contest. Rios was just as dirty as Chaves.
