Lucas Browne back on 1st August

Post by Gnome »

He will be fighting in Wolverhampton of all places, on the Frankie Gavin undercard.

Who should he fight? Practical suggestions please.

I will throw out Michael Sprott as a good opponent.

22 losses. 12 by KO. Would be a fair scrap while it lasted though.

I think guys like Tony Thompson, Kevin Johnson and Manuel Charr would be good fights for Browne in the future.

Would you seriously like to watch Lucas fight Kingpin Johnson? I think it would be an awful spectacle and a bad match up for him myself.

And Tony would no doubt pick him apart for a late stoppage.

I agree with that, Sooner or later Browne will have to fight some one like Tiger Thompson. Johnson has beaten our best H/Weights so i would like to see Browne punch him out but maybe Leapia can have his rematch.

Does everyone agree Browne beats David Price? I ask as it seems like a fight that is probable.

Why do you think Price vacated the Commonwealth title? If he'd fought Browne after his two losses to TT he would have been KOed a 3rd time on the trot.

Given that Browne fought a Canadian in Britain last time out, it's not a given that he'll fight a Brit this time, but if he does, someone like Sam Sexton or John McDermott would make sense. That's assuming it's a Commonwealth defence.

Sexton is fighting next weekend which is only 4-5 weeks before Browne.

I think Ian Lewison is the most likely British opponent he could get but maybe Kali Meehan fancies a trip over after his win in the super 8?

That would make more sense in the Antipodes though.

I think Meehan could be in for a nice pay packet against Parker if he beats Minto. Or even a returning Shane Cameron. Either way Meehan will have some opportunities now

Fighting 24(16)-0 Andriy Rudenko, who is promoted by K2. Not bad at all!

Has the look of a competitive fight. Browne is a much bigger and probably more powerful unit.

Yes and it wasn't all one way traffic. Good learning experience for Lucas to be pushed all the way.

Up in the top 20 now. 35 years old. He's passed the working up tests. Hopefully now he will get a chance to go for it. Tyson Fury or bust. He may stop him and after that Big Daddy would be so marketable it would not be funny. The reward for that risk is worth it. He should call Tyson out publicly and pressure the big guy into the fight. Use Fury's big mouth against him and go after his pride. Lucas should be telling everyone that if CW's can floor Fury with ease he will knock him into next year. Tell them Fury doesn't have the chin to stay in Browne Town very long. Bigger they are the harder they fall. Fe Fi Fo Fum Fury Is A Chinny Mun!

That fight was a big wake up call for Lucas, His power and pressure done him no favors in that fight.
This interview after the fight is good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jFeGzr4dTs
