I hope he gets rid of Goossen. They obviously can't work together.

whether he gets any real money from the lawsuit or not, if he gets a judgement
it then supports his case to dissolve the promotional agreement. it also would go
against goosen's promoters license, later.

Ward needs to shut up and go to Nottingham to fight Froch, that's the toughest fight for him, Froch in Nottingham. Otherwise, he should move up in weight.

Froch doesn't want Ward. He lost in his prime, and he will lose again in a boring fight.

Who else do you want Ward to fight? That's right, no one. His most impressive feat now would be to beat Froch in Nottingham, to shut up people like me who thinks he won't do as well on foreign territory.

ward already beat froch badly.

I think he should fight golovkin at a catchweight of 165 or kovalev at 175 if kovalev gets by Hopkins.

The people that think Andre needs to beat people on foreign soil are being ridiculous. This is boxing not baseball, a homefield advantage is barely measurable @ this level. There is more of a popular fighter advantage than anything else.

Specifically talking about a Andre vs Carl II bout in the UK I suspect the result would be wider cuz the UK judge was the only one who knew wtf he was watching last time.

There isn't a whole lot of true competition out there for Andre so tbh I think this is the right time to handle his legal issues cuz it's not like we're missing out on some great Andre matchup.

It's a huge advantage to be boxing at home. Time difference, a full home training camp, familiar surrounding, crowd support...at world level when there isn't much difference between winning and losing. These factors can make the differeence. It's pretty ignorant to think otherwise.

ward doesn't have a crowd friendly style or an enthusiastic following and froch does.
people like you who really want to see that fight and would fill wembley for it are the
reason this fight would happen tomorrow if ward wasn't in a legal battle with his
promoter. ward would go wherever the most money is. froch would still lose, though.

I disagree. If your trainer/mgr is bs & flies you over two days before the fight than I see an issue. I dont believe crowds give fighters strength either.

When I was an athlete, I preferred ANY big crowd. Whether I was being cheered or booed didn't matter, the energy was the same.

Home field advantage is for role players. The highest level competitor performs anywhere.

Why is nobody mentioning judges ? The most important part of the home advantage is judges who are definitely influenced by a crowd. Also, some of them may be local.

You got to show a little humility when you're a high level competitor.

Just feel sorry for Andre.....months and months are slipping away, he's not earning from the ring and anything prolonged and legal in the US is invariably eye-wateringly expensive.

Goosen must have him boxed into some of horrific 'I own you until Doomsday' contract and Andre is presumably having to create the kind of pressure to get himself released by forcing Goosen to come to the table and making a settlement?

Be interesting to hear the Goosen side of the story as well to get some balance. Particularly as to why he cannot put a full set of accounts on the table showing how Ward's financial affairs were managed.

Funnily enough Virgil Hunter did exactly that in May.
When he brought Gonzales over to fight Degale they only arrived a few days before the fight and it showed, he was massively below par and made Degale look like a beast.

What sport? I was the same way when I was boxing and competing in MMA. Crowds have much more effect in strongman I've noticed. Negative or low energy crowds really suck the energy out of us.

Certainly depends on what country. I can't imagine ANY away fighter liking fights in Thailand in the middle of the day, outdoors in blistering sun, humid air and often horrible officiating

I'd agree with this. Even a good training plan @ climate isn't gonna negate the home fighters edge much if @ all.

The officiating is where I see the most edge as you & someone else mentioned, but I think @ the elite level that guy whos supposed to win edge can override the homefield edge.
