Browne/Parker

Post by N2 Shape »

What do you think of this fight?

Lonergan from Duco who are Parkers promoters have called Browne "scard to fight Parker" having priced himself out, and a "fat, slow, slug who doesnt deserve to be near the rankings"

Thoughts?

Browne in my opinion doesnt need Parker whereas a win over Browne does alot more for Parker than a win over Parker does for Browne. Browne is comming off a solid win and has Hatton in his corner so is currently in a strong position. If they were to fight tomorrow I think Parkers Speed and jab would give Browne some serious issues. I'd Pick Parker by UD right now possibly a late stoppage.

Like you say it wouldn't be worth Browne's while, he's got himself nicely up the rankings and is possibly only a couple of good wins away from a world title shot. To fight Parker now would be madness, infact I'd go as far to say that he'd give up his commonwealth belt not to fight Parker if that situation arose.
Hypothetically if they was to meet though I'd also pick Joseph Parker, he's seems a talented lad and I reckon with the right guidance and the right fights, he could go along long way. He has to be one of the biggest prospects in the world (Heavyweight) at the moment.

This fight will not happen unless Browne loses soon.

Waaay to much risk to Browne, who is on track for a title shot. If browne strings another couple of wins together he is fighting for title and he would be STUPID to risk that to fight Parker, albeit it would be a fight Browne would probably win.

The jury is still out on Parker. He hasn't been really tested up till now.
He needs to dominate in his next two fights to keep moving forward.
The much shorter 41yr old Sherman Williams should be an easy win in Auckland 16/10/14.
At 22yrs old time is certainly on Parker's side.
Would be an interesting fight with the 35yr old Browne.

Fenech bleating about a title shot for Browne against Vladimir is a joke.
Klitschko would do a demolition job on him.
Get in line lucas, there are plenty of better credentialed boxers waiting for a shot.

Have to mention I'm a Browne fan. :TU:

Browne seems to be working towards a title tit and this fight wouldn't assist that. Besides which Parker is high risk, low reward at the moment.

Parker is a prospect (albeit a very good one) and Browne is a contender. There are better fights for Lucas out there at this time. If he can get his hands on a strap and Parker gets a few more fights under his belt, it would be a great fight to make.

We were robbed of a chance to see how far Jo has progressed in the Minto fight as Minto fought with a broken nose and his tactics on the night demonstrated this

Just saw an article on stuff.co.nz with hatton saying browne wouldn't fight parker

Here is the link for the article

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-spor ... big-fight/

there is no way parker could get a fight with browne right now, he's ranked by the WBC,WBA and IBF and parker just got ranked by the WBO would be a good fight to see in the future but joseph still has a while to go yet IMO before he starts fighting opponets of browne's caliber.

So all this talk by Duco about Parker fighting a top 10 soon got me wondering who you guys would think be the best person for him to fight in the Top15 of the 4 main belts? As he is young and still developing it makes sense for him to be fighting someone beatable, so who is a beatable opponent for Parker in the top 15?

I haven't had the time for a while to keep up with all the heavy weights so there are a lot of names new to me in the rankings. Would interested to here your thoughts. Sounds like Browne is a no go at this stage.

Not sure what all the hipe is about Parker who has he fought the fight in Germany was probely his best fight to date but all the rest were not good fighters. To even put him in the same category at Lucas Browne is just madness. Parker has a long way to go and I do think he has the makings of a top notch fighter just not yet, at 22 he has time on his side. :yay:

While Browne looks strong and powerful he's very limited when it comes to actual boxing ability. Having seen post fight interviews with him he conducts himself very well though and seems a genuinely nice guy.

Parker's too active for Browne.
Browne's technique is awful, I don't know how this guy's even rated?
Even if Browne did get a title shot with Wlad, I'm betting that it's going
to be another replay of what happened to Leapai. But in Browne's case
he'll get dropped quicker.

Parker would win, either by KO or UD. He's too quick for Browne.
Big Daddy doesn't even have much power behind his punches.

But then again, Parker's only fought at least 1-2 quality fighters.
Duco needs to pair Parker up with someone who can challenge him,
and Browne's management need to understand that Browne's just
not up to par when in comes to quality boxing.
