Russ Henshaw turning pro

Ilkeston 91kg boxer Russ Henshaw is to make an assault on the pro ranks, turning over at 29 years old.

Having failed to be succesfull in the ABA's having twice lost in the midlands final to the eventual ABA Champion Simon Barclay who is currently an unbeaten and highly touted pro prospect in cracking close contests.

Henshaw will certainly add some excitement to the Cruiserweight division with his style, hes very action packed, excellent chin and makes every fight a war.

While that style is not good for lengevity it will certainly be fun to watch... Although he has represented England so can box when he has to.

From what im hearing Coldwell has signed him up, maybe that can be confirmed on here as i know Coldwell is a Boxrec visitor.

Either way Russ is certain to bring some entertaining fights to the domestic Cruiserweight scene.

Whilst on the subject of turning pro another local lad Jack Mccormack who is a product of Damian Huckers unlicensed events is making his pro debut in leicester at the end of september at Light Welterweight.

Riss henshaw is indeed a handful. Very strong willed man which impressed me most of the fella, also an absolute gent when I was around him. Good luck to him

I saw his blood splattered loss against Barclay (in 2012 I think?)
