I'm a bit stunned that Eddie has thrown him in this early. He's gone from fighting complete nobodies (no disrespect to the opponents so far) to a pretty tough bloke. Fair play to them.

Will be nice if he comes through & HUll gets a big fight next year.

Lightweight is there for the taking, domestically and internationally. May as well go balls deep and test what talent Campbell has because if he can get to the top by the 14 fight mark it should be a relatively barron division.

Yeah Crawford is the top dog but him aside they're pretty beatable. Vasquez is awkward but I think Campbell could outbox him.

True but there was no sign of fast tracking until now and all of a sudden a major step up. Will be very interesting.

This is a big step up for Campbell and i hope he takes it but i dont think its a walkover for Luke at all,Luke's skilled but i havent seen anything yet that makes me think he can mix it with the top guys eventually,he's still unbeaten and has looked ok,but the jury's still out whether he's strong enough to make it as a pro and Brizuela's not a top guy he's tough,if he can put Coyle down then he could very well put Campbell down,Campbell's a better boxer but is he as tough as Daniel?

Campbell's amateur pedigree suggests this an acceptable fight at this stage but just going by his pro career so far,i think this might be a tad early

I never understood the equation in the pro game-world class amateur goes from fighting world class opponents to fighting no hopers and journeymen in fights that are usually over quickly.

When I asked a pro trainer about this he said it was so they could learn their trade and try out different things. I asked how they where learning when they knocked out guys so quickly or the guy just spent the time trying to survive and he didn't really have an answer. I think it is just the way things have always been done.

Now I know that you do need to get these guys into a different mode of fighting, and get them used to the transition from 3/4/5 round fights to 6/8/10/12 round fights but there must be better ways of doing this than spending 3 years knocking muppets and journeymen/ over-what has Joshua learned since turning over?

I think this is a good move from Campbell-he is easily the best prospect in Britain and is nearly 27 so timing is right I think.

Think you raised a valid point there, he may look like a kid, but he's not got time to waste, 27 isn't young for a lightweight and he's far from inexperienced (even if it is largely amateur). My concern isn't so much strength as it is power, at 27 he's probably not far off as powerful as he is going to get. He's got a cracking boxing brain but my fear is that he might not have the punch to keep the elite off for 12 rounds (:see Frankie Gavin). He's got the levers to deliver a good shot and so far he's been facing guys with less ambition, so hard to catch them coming in as a counter puncher, so perhaps the power is there. I certainly hope so. Good match up, will be watching with interest.

A good match up, but I'll be very surprised if it's made.

Like others on here, I think Luke has good skills but lacks in power and that will be what limits him at the highest level.
