Jeff Lacey.....Calzaghe broke him in every single department and although Jeff was sometimes competitive....the big future of multiple championship belts and mega-fights was brutally axed in Manchester.

Um, Cuevas had six losses when he won his belt. Then he made 11 defenses, 10 by KO. So I think he got "on track" after his first loss, which came in his first fight at age 13Broomhall wrote:couple of mexicans I would put in there
Alfonso Zamora
Pipino Cuevas
Davey Moore was never the same after Duran
Also Errol Christie from the uk
You have to be careful with this "never as good after the first loss" as it can often be a case of just never being as good as people thought and being found out. A lot can also depend on the manner of the loss.
I also feel that experiences such as weight making can leave scars. I think that is what happened with Don Curry, and I dont think Gavin has been the same since his weightmaking nightmare back from the Olympics.
McGuigan lost in his third fight and went on to win a featherweight belt. So he too "got back on track after his first loss"Counter-puncher wrote:Barry McGuigan

Michael Grant was touted as the next big thing in the HW division
I remember some US sites even had him as favourite over Lennox in 2000.
2 rounds later it was over.... and Grant lost his next fight to Jameel mccline a year later

Michael Gale
Tony Silkstone was devastated by his loss and never got over it - a tragic thing.
