Keith Thurman vs. Amir Khan.
Keith Thurman vs. Amir Khan.
Who wins?
This would be a HUGE step up for Thurman. He hasn't yet fought someone of Khan's speed and reach. It would also tell us more about Khan's improvements under Hunter.
Thurman is a bit hittable. I see Khan winning the early rounds, then Thurman lands something huge and gets the KO.

Re: Keith Thurman vs. Amir Khan.
Can Khan knock him out? Thurman was hurt against this slugger Soto Karass, with light gloves. Khan has some power, but he has the worse chin of them both, no doubt! And Thurman packs some punch aswell. Can't see this fight going the distance - i would love to see this! ( Don't think it happens though )VG_Addict wrote:Who wins?

I think this would tell us a lot about keith. but I think he has the boxing skill to win this one by ko. I think once khan felt thurmans power, it would change his approach and ruin his gameplan

It shouldn't be made.

Great fight but Khan and his people know they have to get comfortable at WW before stepping in with a puncher like Thurman just yet
I have no doubt Amir would take the fight if offered though assuming by this time Keith's a world champ

khan would never take this fight. he's perfectly comfortable with taking a fight against someone who he doesn't see as a threat so that he can be in line for the mayweather sweepstakes again in May.

You would say that lolHorse wrote:It shouldn't be made.

Thurman would knock Khan out. Probably brutally. I dont think Thurman is the second coming like some making him out to be but I think he'd catch Khan with something big at some point and close the show.

this fight will look very similar to the Collazo fight, Amir Khan will win it.

Thurman would probably knock him out but I really should give up predicting Amir Khan fights.
Re: Keith Thurman vs. Amir Khan.
Absolutely no chance this will happen.
Khan should fight Guerrero next IMO.

you think collazo is on thurman's level? are you serious? not in boxing ability, work rate, power, or chin.vovazilvova wrote:this fight will look very similar to the Collazo fight, Amir Khan will win it.
khan was dropped and shaky in the julio diaz fight, was wobbled by collazo, and was ko'd twice and dropped
other times at 140. thurman would wreck khan.
Re: Keith Thurman vs. Amir Khan.
Amir Khan definitely has the speed to give any boxer problems, however Thurman has devastating powere and I believe that if Thurman lands a well placed bomb, it's over for Khan. Just ask Breidis Prescott.
Re: Keith Thurman vs. Amir Khan.
Thurman KO him in midrounds.
Re: Keith Thurman vs. Amir Khan.
I am pretty sure Thurman is very near the top of most people's avoid lists at the moment.....
...because he equals big danger without the big financial reward. Keith is probably going to have make himself mandatory all over the place and that is where he is heading.
It would be a good fight with Khan right now and I think 'One Time' would finish it.

Don't forget that Thurman can counter-punch as well.

I would be beyond shocked if Khan and his team took this fight. Thurman is a complete nightmare for Khan and would brutally stop him at some point.

Re: Keith Thurman vs. Amir Khan.
Here in lies the problem, at least at this very moment. If we take a look at say boxrec's list of top 10 welterweights its easy to notice that he is pretty much on the outside looking in..
1 Floyd - fighting #4 maidana
2 pac - top rank, and fighting chris "new kids on the block algieri"
3 marquez - top rank, and wouldn't take the fight if Thurman banged his mom
4 maidana - fighting #1 floyd
5 Bradley - top rank, but would make an interesting fight
6 porter - fighting #7 brook
7 brook - look directly above
8 guerrero - for some reason feels Thurman should "prove" himself more.
9 alexander - would be a decent opponent
10 Thurman
*11 Khan - prob not going to happen.

It seems they're very wary of him when he can be beaten and he admits it and while Thurman hits hard, he isn't GGG.

The G-Train is one of a kind, no shame in that.IKSRTFO wrote:It seems they're very wary of him when he can be beaten and he admits it and while Thurman hits hard, he isn't GGG.

I'm not in the Keith is all that camp, but Keith would make Amir come up with some hilarious excuses as to why he lost postfight.Baby Face Finster wrote:I would be beyond shocked if Khan and his team took this fight. Re: Keith Thurman vs. Amir Khan.
Thurman is definatly better then collazo but Khan will out box him with a lot of ring movement like he did to Collazo, Thurman will chase khan a lot around the ring but Khan will win it with speed and boxing skills.sucracristo wrote:you think collazo is on thurman's level? are you serious? not in boxing ability, work rate, power, or chin.vovazilvova wrote:this fight will look very similar to the Collazo fight, Amir Khan will win it.
