Is anyone aware if there has ever been a british born world champion that never boxed as an amatuer ?

Early champions often learnt their trade in the boxing booths, so they wouldn't of had 'amatuer' fights, but would of had many booth fights, Jimmy Wilde said he took part in 100's of these type of bouts.

In the modern era, i can't think of any off hand, but will have a hunt round. Good question
