His 'delicate' handling of the sensitive story being interspersed with how he had MGM t-shirts on his allegedly show and that he'd get host Colin Murray one, that he'd imagine Moore would climb into the ring on crutches to do Macklin's corner in Dublin next month and just how much Bunce seems to absolutely love the side of boxing that is a "tricky, old business" and "full of nutcases shooting their wives, their boyfriends, their trainers, their managers."

Bunce did say Jamie was the victim of a mistaken identity or of a warning for someone else...and that Bunce had campaigned for four years from 2006 to get him a world title shot. A-ha indeed.

I remember Bunce tirelessly fighting Jamie's corner...he's such a selfless man. A real role model.

I'm sure if Buncey got plugged he wouldn't be romanticising over it.

[quote="coneye"]I learnt YEARS AGO , in that life style you can't be a fringe contender ,, either get in it and risk the consequences , or get the hell out of Dodge , and become a normal boring old fart . .

I swear I've read Big Vern in Viz saying that a few years back.

By all accounts from his posts on here (I remember someone on here pm'd him about visiting some gyms in manchester and he met them and took them on a tour) and seeing him on the TV he's always come across as a really nice bloke and fairly clean cut.
Jamie's a top man. There are very few people in boxing who are liked and respect across the board, Moore's one of those people. He brought me into his home when I was some .com nobody. He was generous with his time, and chocolate biscuits, and would talk me through his fights. It was an invaluable experience and he had absolutely no reason to help me out.

I'd definitely recommend approaching him if you see at a show.
about 2 years ago i was shopping in tesco and saw jaimie so went over said hello and then spent the next half hour chatting with him, the guys a genuine nice fella.

But that's a very harsh way to learn that lesson for poor Jamie.

Just hope he's alright physically and emotionally. Be a crying shame if it effected his ability to train fighters. He always seemed to be doing charity runs and things like that as well.
Jamie grew up in Salford with Steve Foster as his manager. He is a lovely bloke and a great TV personality but far from naive...
i thought steve woods was his manager

He is now but I think Foster was involved at the beginning. Not 100% on that though.

If it's not Salford it's Marbella...remember afore mentioned foster injuring himself prior to a card at bowlers by taking evasive action when some1 potshotted him in a car park ;;-)

He is still in hospital but is doing good. He just wants to rest and relax with his family.

Given how very dubious some of the 'patrons' of that area/gym are, I'm wondering now just how, or if, Macklin's reputation and career will be sullied by this, and his links to people he really ought to have nothing to do with?

How could he/they know so little and if they did know, wtf were they doing hanging with people like that? Apart from money of course.

If I was a manager, promoter or sponsor, I'd not have any of 'my' fighters go anywhere near that gym now.

Macklin seems a clever fella too,he should know better than to get mixed up with these types, even if he knows or has seen nothing, its easy to get caught up in it,look what happened to Jamie
