is actually Frank "Pete" Petrella, Jake LaMotta's friend and stablemate from the Teasdale Athletic Club in the Bronx New York under Mike Capriano. He would later change his name to Peter Savage and help Jake author "Raging Bull."

Im not sure that guy who fought Vinnie Gigante was Pete/Frank Petrella/Savage. Can anyone confirm this? Also, can anyone confirm he was ever called Petrello? I havent found that anywhere either.

yeah, Jake LaMotta himself had said the he mostly had written Jake La Motta's book for him.
It should have been called "The Raging Bull" * and Pete.
Jake La Motta wrote the outline sometime in 1969,
and Pete made himself a central and pivatol charecter in it.
