Could Khan beat Floyd?

Exactly as the title says. Could Khan have a chance at winning a decision over Floyd?

When you break it down. Amir Khan has the youth being only 27 in comparison to Mayweather who is 37 plus he has only had 33 fights to Mayweather's 46 so he has the freshness in that department although Floyd Mayweather has the superior Championship experience over Khan of 22 world title defences to Khans 7. Mayweather also has the superior ring generalship in comparison to Khan and better defence so Mayweather would take it for me.

Don't forget Floyd's timing and adaptability. He adapted in the Judah, Hatton, Mosley, and Maidana fights.

There's no question that Floyd is the better fighter of the two.

I think Amir's ring age is older than Floyd's ring age in regards to damage & its severely lacking in regards to experience. Amir does got a balls to the wall style, but I think that does nothing vs a guy like Floyd & would actually be a disadvantage cuz he'd take too many chances & unlike most who become apprehensive vs Floyd & go to decision Amir would get KTFO.

He couldn't even beat Lamont Peterson. Even if you think he won it. Would you say Peterson could beat Floyd? *laughs*

I have said this before, but why won't Khan mention his next possible opponent as Keith Thurman or the winner of Porter/Brook? Instead he is talking about Berto, Guerrero.....and throw out Pacquios name.

Simply said, Khan is wanting to leapfrog the top guys in the division on his way to cash out vs Mayweather. He said he wants to retire at 28, and would make enough to do that probably. As dumb as he is, he is at least smart enough to want to avoid a KO or getting exposed before cashing out. He mentions Guerrero, but has turned him down 3 times. Talk is cheap and Khan is a guy that needs to earn respect, instead of himself thinking he is a top contender.

Would he beat Floyd? No, but would make a good show of it for a few rounds.

Anything is possible at this stage in Floyd's career. While Kahn isn't as good as other more qualified Floyd challengers out there, he has an element of speed and youth that a lot of them don't have. I wouldn't bet money on Amir even today. But to answer the question of the thread : yes, he could win.

I believe Khan has a very good chance of beating a 2014 / 2015 Mayweather.

Yes, but it would be a slim one. 1 in 10? 1 in 20?

I wouldn't be betting any money on it.

I do think there are attributes he has that floyd has not faced regularly that would cause floyd some problems, his incredible hand speed being the obvious one, and mean floyd would need a certain gameplan and adjustments in the ring, but i have little doubt he would figure out that game plan and make the adjustments and find a way of doing what needs to be done.
The big factor in just how real a chance khan has is how well he has developed his style and ironed out his flaws under Hunter, but for me, there is still a vulnerability there that no coach could fully remove and if anyone is going to find a weakness it if floyd.

For all Khan has attributes that would make life difficult at times in the ring for Floyd and perhaps see him winning a round or 2 more than your average mayweather opponent, I could actually see Floyd scoring a rare stopage

Khan is taller, faster, younger, hits harder.
Mayweather is more skilled and experienced, but doesn't got that hard punch that Khan is so vulnerable to.
Khan's chances are better than Maidana's chances.

I hope I heard wrong, but the word is Khan will likely face Josito Lopez in December? He isn't even ranked in the top 15, and Khan thinks it will get him a fight with Floyd? Lopez is no better than Collazo, possibly a step down.

Have him fight Keith Thurman or at least Guerrero.

He mentioned Brook as a possibility if he wins, don't think there's any interest in Thurman or Porter, the money isn't there for fights like that, so he'll take keep busy fights until he gets a big payday.

I also read Guerrero is a real possibility, and a much safer choice than Thurman for December. I hope it happens. At least if Khan beats Guerrero, it would make sense as a win to get a fight with Floyd. With Lopez he isn't getting it. The winner of Brook/Porter would be good too.

Barrera , Kotelnik, Malignaggi, Maidana, Judah, Peterson, Garcia & Collazo.

Khan has proven he will take dangerous opponents, i don't get why people think he's scared. he's got poor whiskers but he certainly isnt afraid to test them.

he would certainly benefit from not speaking so much, but then again people wanna hear him or ask him. he's a well known guy hence why the shit he talks appears more regularly than others.

Like him or not, Floyd is the best of his generation. I can't think of anything Amir could do to shut Floyd down.

Khan carefully not mentioning Thurman's name as a potential opponent tells us a lot about him not wanting his chin tested. He has been trying to take the back door approach to get a Mayweather fight. Look at his recent opponents. Collazo was built up to be some KO artist, and had done nothing the last 4 years. His KO% is less than Khan's.

As far as the rest, Barrera was clearly past it, Kotelnik and Malagnaggi were good wins. Maidana - he was lucky to survive with the help of the ref, Judah - he won on an illegal punch (although clearly winning at the time), Peterson and Garcia he lost to. He arguably lost to Diaz, and fought a feather fisted lw before that. No, he has not earned a fight with Floyd.

I agree. Floyd should fight Khan and Thurman/Porter, and then retire. He has nothing left to prove.

I can't think of anyone from 130 to 154 who I would favor over him.

With his speed , hit and Grab tactics he could beat Floyd. Toss in the fact Floyd doesn't possess good ko power and we got Team Khan taking more chances to land more punches

Floyd wins 115-113. Khan will be 4-2 up after 6 with his hand speed early on
