Surprising news about the eye, that flew under the radar.

No one knows the truth but no matter what, they were hardly masterminding some criminal empire and his explanation is plausible. If my old man asked me to bank a couple checks for him, I would do it too. I guess the old man was trying to dodge some income tax

They say rouge builder in court. And I wouldn't be surprised if he's laying it on thick in court about the eye. Planting the seed for the sympathy vote if it all goes wrong.

Maybe he's inflating his earnings a bit so it sounds like it wouldn't be a big deal for him to cash large cheques in his bank. A lot of porkies get told in crown court.

Wasn't Purdy being done for ripping off vulnerable people last year?

I guess this is the same case that's just got to crown. If so, he wasn't actually involved at the ripping off stage. Although he ripped Sky off when he fought Alexander...

He fought two British title fights with Craig Watson that year. Both were promoted by the best paying company in British boxing at the time :TU: Not that I'm saying the figure is correct.

I doubt he came out with that still. Maybe he did. Perhaps they shouldn't have been the best paying company...

Yes, assume that this is the same ongoing case ?

"Former British welterweight champion Lee Purdy is among six people charged in connection with fraud against elderly and vulnerable people.

Police said nearly 40 people, aged 65 to 99, were thought to have been victims of fraud totalling more than £1million".

I wouldn't be surprised if he regains sight very quickly in his bad eye, now.
