Boxrec ratings says:
1 FM jr.
2 Pacman
3 Wladimir
4 marquez
5 ward
6 Canelo
7 Froch
Canelo got a gift decision against Lara, Froch should be ranked above him. Marquez is getting old, if Froch can hold on for one or two more fights, he may enter the top 5, especially if Wlad retires soon. Froch, please, 2 more years of fighting!

Rigondeaux don't belong above Froch and Doniaire CERTAINLY doesn't belong above him... Rigondeaux should still be higher up, though.BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Boxrec p4p

Re: Froch's deserved place
In Froch's last 4 fights he has beaten Yusef Mack, a journeyman. Mikkel Kessler, a brilliant fighter but way past his best, and George Groves twice, a 20 fight novice who's best wins are a razor tight win over Degale and a win over a shopworn Glen Johnson. Froch is not even the number one fighter in his own division let alone top ten in the world. I would say he is in the top 15 pound for pound at best.

Re: Froch's deserved place
You should say "Froch's last 5 fights". Bute was massive favorite, regarded by many as the best SMW in the world, Froch crushed him. Mack is not a special win. Kessler and Froch were both past their best when Froch won, but both were still elite leve, towering above anyone other than Ward. As for Groves, it was worth it, those two fights with Groves was some of the most memorable stuff I've seen in boxing...Ettt9350 wrote:In Froch's last 4 fights he has beaten Yusef Mack, a journeyman. Re: Froch's deserved place
Bute was hugely overrated a possibly weight drained, however he had a belt and Froch took it off him in style so I'll give him some credit for that. The win over a 5 or 6 years past his best Kessler on home turf is a good win but not one that elevates Froch to the top 10 in my view. Groves is a talented prospect but beating him twice does not elevate you to the top 10 for me. I believe Froch lost to both Dirrell and Pascal, when you add all these results up together you do not get a top 10 pound for pound fighter in my view. Froch is overhyped and overrated in my opinion, never a top 10 fighter unless he beats Andre Ward...which is incredibly unlikely.

Re: Froch's deserved place
I've said what Froch is for so many years and all I get is angry responses. Fight fans have an enhanced sense of loyalty that causes them to drastically overrate fighters they "like" for whatever reason.
Bute was overrated in response to Ward's dominance. However, Froch did wreck an undefeated fighter, credit to him.
Excited Froch fans used the Kessler win to elevate him into the stratosphere. However, they forget to mention that fight was still very close.
Froch is a very good fighter, but his own inflated ego has rubbed off on his fans.

Re: Froch's deserved place
None of those wins individually put him in the top 10, it's his overall body of work. So now he'd have to beat Ward to go top 10? Why not #2 p4p? That's where Ward is rated, and his career best win is that overrated Froch, with nothing notable since.Ettt9350 wrote:Bute was hugely overrated a possibly weight drained, however he had a belt and Froch took it off him in style so I'll give him some credit for that. Froch most definitely didn't lose to Pascal, GTFO. It was about even for 8 rounds, then Pascal gassed and lost all the remaining ones.
Also this makes no sense: "Froch is not even the number one fighter in his own division let alone top ten in the world." There's usually 3-4 welters in p4p top 10. Not all of them can be #1 in their division, right?
