Could Khan beat Floyd?

Khan would do well for the first few rounds due to his hand speed and foot movement. Possibly even be ahead on the cards after 5 rounds at which point FMJ would begin to take over based on precise timing and accurate counter punching which would likely result in either a late stoppage or a comfortable points win, somewhere around 8 rounds to 4.

Don't forget that Khan still has a weak inside game, and Floyd can rough people up on the inside when he needs to.

I have said this before, but why won't Khan mention his next possible opponent as Keith Thurman or the winner of Porter/Brook? Instead he is talking about Berto, Guerrero.....and throw out Pacquios name.

Simply said, Khan is wanting to leapfrog the top guys in the division on his way to cash out vs Mayweather. He said he wants to retire at 28, and would make enough to do that probably. As dumb as he is, he is at least smart enough to want to avoid a KO or getting exposed before cashing out. He mentions Guerrero, but has turned him down 3 times. Talk is cheap and Khan is a guy that needs to earn respect, instead of himself thinking he is a top contender.

Would he beat Floyd? No, but would make a good show of it for a few rounds.

He mentioned Brook as a possibility if he wins, don't think there's any interest in Thurman or Porter, the money isn't there for fights like that, so he'll take keep busy fights until he gets a big payday.

If any of Pacquiao/Bradley/JMM could be made, i'd have loved to see them too, although those come with the usual promotional hurdles

but as it stands he's taking unranked, sub-world class opponents twice a year in the hope that it buys him the biggest fight out there. Even as a Amir Khan supporter...not for me i'm afraid

If Mayweather has another stinker against Maidana, Khan could give him some problems. Mayweather is running out of people to fight. I can’t see him fighting Thurman, possibly Porter if he wins and there are rumblings about Garcia.

Personally I didn't see anything special that Maidana did in his fight with Floyd, aside from the UFC tactics, he pretty much got beat handily and since Khan doesn't fight in that manner then I see no reason why Amir would give him problems. Khan is not a dirty fighter like Marcos and he will try to win using actual boxing skills not the dirty kneeing, headbutting, arm twisting, rabbit punching, low blow fouling and bulldog tackling BS Maidana used to fool people into believing he actually was able to put up a good fight.

With Khan fighting clean he stands no chance, his handspeed is overrated as Garcia (who I wouldn't call a Speedster) was able to punch him at will cleanly and actually beat him to the punch scoring a devastating KO, Lamont Peterson was actually able to catch him with several clean shots early on and continually chase him around the ring while beating him to the body so I just don't see how people can say he will give the far faster and more accurate Mayweather problems with his so called handspeed.

I'm someone who believes Floyd underperformed against Madiana, as in he taken him lightly or his mind was elsewhere at the time. If the rematch goes similar I would be inclined to believe he’s possibly in decline.
