Some rounds Kell is 50-60/1 which is ridiculous.
What rounds are they? I might have a flutter.
Totally putting 100 pound on every rd 1200 in total , average rd is 50/1 looking at 5000 win if he stops him, a kick in the balls if he doesn't stop porter :o :o Mad week in Vegas if he does :DDD :DDD :DDD

If you'll stick £1200 on Brook, I'd say Vegas is the last place you wanna visit.

Paddy offer 50/1 and better for rounds 1-5. Then 40/1 and 35/1 for the rest. That's the best price out there for round odds, and I'm pretty sure that's who he's gone with.

I'd love Brook to come back with the title but it's going to be a tough one.

I can see Porter mauling and throwing big shots until rounds 6-7, possibly Kell might catch him late on depending on both, stamina-wise. I just see an overhand right being a problem for Kell.

Porter has also never been down as a pro and Brook has only one slip back in 2007, going to be a good, tough fight. I don't think either guy is going out early, a decision is on the cards for me.

I have watched and re watched Porters notable fights and how people are bowled over with this guy's power is beyond me.
Alexander took full shots over and over as well as numerous head butts ( where the cuts came from)and was still there in round 12.
He managed to spoil a spoiler fair play but aside from being slippery he did not really impress anyone on the night the crowd oo'd and rr'd to Porters dads shrieks from the corner and they said a little prayer to feign humility while the scores were added up he did enough to nick the belt from a champion who has shown how he can be beaten and doesn't fight well when his frustrated hardly the second coming.
And then people are saying ''no one's done what he did to Paulie'' with due respect to a tough guy who achieved great things WTF are people talking about he has been exposed before over and over he holds no power and as such poses no real risk for a fighter like Porter.
Paulie's timing was awful and his punch resistance is nowhere near what it was he looked shite and that flattered Porter.
Kell is there and looking genuinely cool calm and collected in great shape and more determined than ever to do the business and bring it home so for those who question his bottle I would say question answered.
I expect Porter to throw everything he has got Maidana style and he will get timed and punished all night and eventually stopped.
Yes Porter is tough and keeps coming but he is not the inside powerful genius people are making out his own dad realises the games up trust me its coming home and the doubts will eradicated by Sunday.
I was struck by the one-sidedness on the forum for Porter - moreso considering it's a British section.
Some people will always jump on any American puncher's bandwagon, others are a bit more reasoned. I've seen nothing yet from either side to suggest Kell can't or won't beat this guy.

Given the chat on here it was refreshing to say that Houston I believe, in the Boxing Monthly, also tips Brook to win.
It doesn't seem one-sided in Porter's favor to me, at least in this part of the forum. He also only has 53 percent in his favor in the poll in another thread, suggesting that he's only slighty favored.

The thing is this isn't Calzaghe v Lacy. The American puncher this time round is more proven and regardless of excuses, Brook had his toughest fight against a similar style of fighter at a lower level.

I'll be cheering on Brook for sure and be hoping he does have those extra gears we keep hearing about.

Just had a really good look at Porters record for the first time and this guy is beatable. He's certainly no killer. If Kell is as good as people say, he'll win. He's a very big Welter with a lot of skill.

The onle Kell Brook fight i saw was his first fight with Carson Jones, i saw 2 things in that fight that will help Porter beat Brook, 1, Kell Brook does not have good head movement every time Jones hit him his punches landed right on the head. 2, he cant handle pressure that well, and Porter never stops coming at you.

Other then that Kell hits pretty decent.

Kell underestimated Carson Jones and was under prepared for that fight.
This is inexcusable and Kell nearly paid a heavy price for his negligence.
He learnt a valuable lesson that night and has rung in the changes to ensure the lesson is learnt and the mistake is not repeated alot of the animosity directed at Kell stems from that fight.
One positive was that an out of condition injured Brook still got the job done.
It's hard to remember to move your head when your nose is bust and your gassing from round 6.
He had himself to blame and is a totally different beast these days.
The true real test will come Saturday Brook has no experience of anyone at Porters level I just believe that the last 3 fights on Porters record flatter him due to the high profile of their names.
They were by no means even at the top of their limited games.
He deserves every credit for beating them but those wins do not a great make its a real 50/50 world title fight may the best man win. :TU:

That should be the case, but there's a good number of British boxing 'twats' who really enjoy it when a British boxer loses.
Edited. Nothing wrong with predicting against a british fighter; I mean you should call it like you see it.

But to want to see a Brit lose is twattish behaviour.
I wanted Kessler to beat Froch. Generally I want the Brit to win, but there are exceptions which I don't think mean you're a twat. If the Brit is a total cock (ie Froch) then it's natural to want to see him get splattered.

Like every time Junior Witter fights. Total dickhead.

My genuine fear for Brook in this fight is that he freezes on the night. I remember in the fight against Luis Galarza in atlantic city he seemed really nervous and was making a lot of mistakes in the first 2 rounds and getting caught with silly shots. Luckily he has a good chin but it was worrying. I remember Hearn saying how nervous he was in the dressing room beforehand and that was against a journeyman and the venue was pretty empty at the time of the fight. I hope he's more prepared mentally this time round.

I agree with Happy Slapper. My default setting is to want the Brit to win but there's a lot that can sway that. The actions of a fighter, genuinely wanting to take hard fights and prove you're the best etc usually trumps nationality imo.

Out of interest, how would people feel if we went back a few years and a Pac-Floyd fight was just resting on one of them getting his undeserving alphabet mandatory out of the way (who happened to be a Brit) so it could all be signed and sealed?

If it were a Canadian I would've hoped for Pac/FM to quickly defeat them.

Maybe it's the fact that I come from a country without a significant nation-forming conflict, but I don't feel much patriotism and I think it's absurd to expect people to cheer for someone virtually just because they're from the same general political unit (or race, or religion). That Steve Molitor, for example, also comes from Canada doesn't mean I think he's a good fighter, or that he's entertaining, or that he's a nice person (I think he is, but not because of his nationality), and so on, and those factors are far more important to me than nationality when I decide who to cheer for.

I would love to see Sergey Kovalev knockout Jean Pascal and Adonis Stevenson, I would cheer for Wlad over Bermane Stiverne, and I was glad that Jo Jo Dan beat Kevin Bizier and Caballero beat Molitor. David Lemieux is my favorite active Canadian fighter, and even then I was happy when he lost to my favorite Mexican fighter, M.A. Rubio.

i'll admit I missed the Jones fights, but comments like this just leave me flummoxed. I can't comment on these fights specifically but when a well-skilled and highly talked up fighter starts to get punched around the chops it kind of makes you wonder what they've been doing in the gym the last 10 years.

I'm sure that sounds harsh - what is it Ricky Hatton always says? you can't have a tickling contest in the shower and not get wet.

Is he? Really? I seem to remember Lacy had some respect coming over. Don't think this Porter guy is streets ahead of him - althought the gap in ability stands to be far smaller in this fight for sure - largely on account of how good Calzaghe was.
Who knows, Brook might be about to lay on a masterclass too..

Porter is more proven then Brook with his wins over Alexander and Paulie, and I'd say those wins also make him more proven than Lacy was. What were Lacy's best wins prior to the Calzaghe bout?

Hearn should have done more to get this in the UK. If Kell wins this it would do his standing / box office appeal more good had this fight been in the UK.

Take Darren Barker, tremendous win but how many people, outside of the hardcore fans knew about it. Next fight was in Germany.

Unlike Rees, Purdy, Rose etc - Kell has a chance here. Shawn Porter is hardly a big name fighter, I am sure this fight could have come to the UK.

Porter is ten times more proven than Lacy. You're making yourself look silly here.

Who did Lacy ever beat that was on the level of a 27 year old Devon Alexander, pray? & don't say fvcking mid-thirties Robin Reid, FFS.

Brook, OTOH, is about a trillion times less proven than Calzaghe (even the safely-matched WBO-Only version), & a great deal less proven than Porter.

It's a great, well-matched fight. Talking shite about it out of ignorance doesn't make it any better.
